Hoopty do review

Food was good. As an above poster said, ribs were not "fall off the bone", but I am one who doesn't like them to fall off so I liked em. Could have used some potato side dish instead of beans IMO. Chicken was very good also.

Show was great, kids 1,5 and 7 all loved it especially the washboards. 1 yo was absolutely mesmerized.

Also had problems getting there. Left resort by bus to MK at 3:30 but had to wait for 3 boats when we got to MK. Ended up walking in about 5:30.

Overall worth it and just walked the grounds afterward and visited the petting zoo etc.

The show itself is ok. But I didn't think they gave you enough time to eat. All the food was great! But we went through the ribs really fast (and our drinks for that matter) and we didn't see wait staff until they brought out different parts of the the meal, and they would just drop it off and leave. So by the time we got our waitress, we got a second bucket of ribs. (Just for clarification purposes, the Hoop Dee Doo was not packed when we went. We saw a handful of empty tables.) They weren't cooked. I ended up really sick afterwards because of it. So after the show was done, we asked a CM how to get back to our hotel and he suggested going to the dock and waiting for the next boat to the MK (mind you it was in January, 30 degrees and downpouring). So we did, for 20 min. No boat. Finally some guests came over and said that a CM told them that no boats were running to the magic kingdom since it had closed 1 hours ago. So we walked back to pioneer hall and asked a different CM. They said to go wait for a bus, take it to another bus stop and wait for a bus for DTD. We wait with other guests for the DTD bus. No bus. The Epcot bus came by twice. We had waited 45 min. Finally another bus came from Epcot and I got up and asked him what we should do. And he radioed in and said "get on and I'll take you to Epcot to catch the last buses back to your resorts." So we did. It was horrible. I guess the show itself wasn't bad, I don't really remember. But the hassle to get back to our hotel, the misinformed CMs, and the bad ribs kinda made me never wanna go again.

I guess if you booked the 5:00 show it wouldn't be that bad. Because it would be over at like 7:00 and the MK would still be open.

BTW Because of the bus hassle I won't stay at Fort Wilderness ever! LOL

We are going for the 1st time in August. We will be spending the day in Epcot and then have an ADR for 5:00. My question is, what is the best way to get there from Epcot. I would think there would be a bus to Fort Wildnerness. If that is the case, do we take another bus from there to Pioneer Hall. Are the shuttle buses marked so we know which one to take and also how long should we allow to get there. Should be leave Epcot no longer than 3:30 or 4:00? We also plan on going back to Epcot after the show to see Illuminations. Is there a bus back to Epcot? Thanks for any help. Tamra :)
