Hoopdedo or Mickeys BBQ

I posted this under Restaurants, but did not get but one response. My question is which is better? Mickey's BBQ or Hoop De Do Revue?

We've done both and it is a toss up. We loved the corny entertainment at the HDDR better then the country music at the BBQ. We liked the food much better at the BBQ. If you like country music, which I hate, you will really enjoy the BBQ. There are no characters at the HDDR and loads of them at the BBQ. You get to dance and take pics with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and chip and Dale most of the night. You just sit there at the HDDR and watch a show but it is really a lot of fun too. I happen to like the slapstick type comedy that the HDDR offers. I guess if we went again we would chose the HDDR as DD, 4, liked it much better as far as entertainment goes. HTH!

I personally did not think the HDDR was worth the money they charge, unless of cource you drink. We don't. But it was not what I expected. It was OK. The food was OK. I can't comment on the MBYBQ, although I was thinking about trying it this trip. Have a good time what ever you choose.

Another FYI the hoop-de-do is inside with aircond. and the Bar-B-Q is outside. I've heard alot of people say how HOT it was at the BBQ. We are going in Nov. so I'm hoping the heat won't be a problem for us.

I didn't realize they had the BBQ in November. It is seasonal but I didn't know the season. We went in May and it was definitely warm under that pavillion!

Backyard BBQ Vote here

We went to both on our last trip. Hoop de doo might be inside, but I felt crowded and uncomfortable.

We go in October so the BBQ was GREAT, not hot at all, in the evening so it was nice. They have a band and the kids love to get up and dance. My son hated the Hoop De Doo, it was really over his head, plus he didnt like sitting still that long. I know the entertainment is supposed to be corny but man... my DH and I feel that we are very fun people and joke and love to have a great time, but these jokes and entertainment from HDD was so bad we left with a feeling of being ripped off.

I know a lot of people like it, and that is great, it would not be running this long if they didnt have some followers, we as a family just didnt get it.

At the BBQ we didnt feel rushed, my son loved it because the characters come - Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Goofy and I think Donald was there but without pulling out my pictures I am not going to swear to it. Anyway, they made a couple of appearances so that all the kids could get their pictures taken with them. My DS also liked getting up and dancing to the music. I got more of a downhome feeling here and I didnt feel as uncomfortable.

When we made our reservations for this trip, the BBQ was the first reservation that we made. The two things I am looking forward to most about this vacation is the BBQ and the MNSSHP.

Mickey's Backyard BBQ!!!

Stay until the end, lots of families leave before it ends and the families that stay get more interaction with the characters.
The end was the best, my girls danced and held hands with the characters!

My vote is for HDDR. My daughter laughed so hard when she saw it in 1998 when she was 5 and then again last year when she was 9. We did the BBQ and it was fun but not real funny. You stand in lines to see the characters and stuff. I liked the show at HDDR much better.
