I just made my Hoop ADR for August 12th 2006 @5pm. Should I expect to be sitting in the parking lot :confused3 since I made them with only 5 1/2 months to go? I would love to hear how far out others have done ADR and what your seats were like. Also, anyone gone to the campfire after this show. is it worth the time?

Thanks for any help.

We made ressies about 3 weeks before and were seated in the very front row. Even the CM who seated us had no idea why it worked out that way. :teeth:

I called the Disney dining number and asked about my res for the HDD and this is what he told me=====I made my res for 7/6 at about the beginning of January====He said they take all the reservations and keep them in order based on who called first,,then as people cancel the people behind them get moved up one,,then 48 hours before the day of your meal when no one is no longer allowed to cancel they do the seating chart==he said he wasn't sure of exactly how they did it but figured first to call sat at stage then made their way back based on next in line======So say you and I go on the same day I called first and get front row center----you called 50 people behind me BUT 25 of them call and cancel that would put you roughly 3rd or 4th row(((Just an estimate!!!!)))) just to give you an idea----I plan on calling the day before to see if they can tell me where I'll be!

We've sat on the floor and up in the balconey.

One time we sat in the front row and that time I had booked just a couple of weeks before our trip.

There's really no bad seat in the entire place. The whole place becomes a stage with the actors and actresses whooping it up on stage and amongst the guest areas.

Enjoy!

I was once (a while back) told by a CM that your HDDR seats are not assigned when you make the reservation, but they are assigned when you check in on the night of the show. May have changed, but I have been five times, each time making reservations at least 6-9 months out and have sat all over that building, from front row-center, to the balcony...Seems pretty random :confused3

I just can't say for sure. We booked our HDDR seats for Aug '03 about 8 months in advance. But, Hurricane Charley shut down the FW area, and of course that was when we had tickets to HDDR. So, on Aug 14 we had to rebook (that's when we were told that they had canceled all shows for the next 2 days) we got seats for the night of the 16th. We showed up very early, were about the 3rd group to check in at the podium. We ended up on the side of the balcony. It wasn't horrible seating by any means. But I have heard that the seating is done by one of three ways.... 1. when you book your tickets 2. when you pick up your tickets 3. when you arrive at the podium. I have no idea how they do it. I'll let you all know the end of Oct...I booked Oct 25 (late show) for my dd's 13th birthday dinner (this was her biggest wish..to turn 13 at HDDR) back in Nov '04. The four of us (with another young lady turning 13 2 days later) will pick up our tickets as soon as we are able to, and plan on getting to HDDR as early as we can.

I think this CM was confused. We've been to the HDD 7 times and the earlier we called, the closer we were to the stage. We've gone to the HDD the 2nd night we were there and the last night we were there, each time getting our actual tickets the first or second day we were there. If you look at the ticket when you get them from the concierge (sp?) or the ticket window right next to Pioneer hall there is a 3 digit number on the reservation. This number is the same number they spin into the HDD board that you sit around for your family picture before the show. That allows the picture selling person to know where you are at when they bring the pictures around during the show to sell them to you.

Of the 7 times we've been there, some of the times we've arrived at the show the earliest have been where we've been seated the farthest from the stage and a couple of times we've arrived right before the show and have been seated right next to the stage, which also corresponds to the times we've made the earliest reservations for the show.

I think if you add all these things up together, and also take into account that every time we've made ressies for this show the CM's have told us the seating is based on the order of the time of the reservation was made, it seems pretty conclusive the earlier you call the closer you are.

Obviously which show you pick, which day of the week you pick and the time of year you are going can contribute to the number of people going to the show, which directly affects where you are, but the earlier you call the better the seat you will have.
