I was unsuccessful getting many suggestions for where to dine on our next trip. We have been to many of them, and most of the more widely talked about ones.
I think I'm going to try Bongos in DTD and the Cape May breakfast.
Hoop Dee Doo is a little out of the way for us, but we've never tried it...anyone been there lately? It is a good choice food and entertainment wise for 2 adults and a 7 year old?
TIA

Hoop Dee Doo is a very fun show and we always have a great time when we go. The food is fairly good - nothing spectacular, but good enough. I'm not sure exactly where you would be on the day you are planning on scheduling HDDR, but it's really not that far out of the way. From MK, you take a boat to Ft Wilderness Campground and it's a short walk to Pioneer Hall.

You can see videos on Youtube to see if it is your type of thing. I decided it wasnt for me and would rather eat at Trails End with the same food for only 1 credit instead of 2.

We love HDDR:love: and it's a must-do for us every trip. It is one of our favorite meals of the trip, real comfort food--fried chicken, ribs, baked beans, cornbread, salad, etc. and unlimited pitchers of sangria!:drinking1

My kids love playing the washboards at the end of the show and it is such a kick to see them belly laughing:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: at all of the corny, slapstick jokes. We were just talking about the show yesterday, and they remembered singing "My Darling Clementine" and were still laughing about it.

We all love HDDR. It is a fun show for all ages and the food is good. I have been to Bongos a few times, and I love the food. Have always had good service and food. This will be the first year that I wont be going eating there. Oh well there is next year.

We went for the first time last September and we all loved it. We had the DDP and since our flight was arriving in the evening we had an extra credit. I had always said I wouldn't pay that much for a dinner show but after going we will be going next time as well even if I have to pay OOP for it. We went on our last night and after 10 days on the DDP we weren't really keen for another meal but we all completely enjoyed the food. The show was fun and we ended up being made to stand up and dance so the kids got an extra laugh.

You mentioned looking for some new places to dine. I hear very good things about Olivia's and The Turf Club. We are going to try one next time.

Hoop Dee Doo is an excellent place for families. I've been twice in the past year and I love every minute of it. It has a great comedic value throughout the entire show. I'm from Alabama so the comfort food sits real well with me :goodvibes They start you off with a great salad and incredible cornbread. It's all you can eat ribs, fried chicken, baked beans, mashed potatoes, and then they finish it off with strawberry shortcake. YUM! Definitely should be done at least once.
