Hi everyone :yay:

I am looking to plan a dinner with my daughter age 8, and cousin age 17 and myself, age not important, lol. (girls night)
Hubby and teen son will be at Universal for for HHN until midnight so I always plan a girls night while we wait to pick them up.

My cousin age 17 has never been to a theme park or left her state for that matter so we are so excited to have her coming to Florida and show her a fun time.
I have never been to Hoop-Dee-Doo myself but have always wanted to.
I must say I got a little sticker shock when I went on just now to make reservations.

I would really love to hear from all of you about this. I have read all about it and I think I know what to expect BUT $60. a person is A-LOT!!

I would also be open to other ideas for a fun dinner if you have any.
Thanks everyone :)

It may seem like a lot of money, but it my opinion it's worth it! My family absolutely loves the HDDR. The show itself is cute (corny jokes but the cast is energetic and interactive) and the food is yummy! Fried chicken, corn bread, BBQ ribs, mashed potatoes, baked beans.. and all you can drink Sangria! It has become a must-do for my family and lots of other families on the Dis. Another great idea might be 'Ohana at the Polynesian. Really great meal, and if you can get a later reservation you can watch Wishes out the window :lovestruc

Good luck making your decision! :flower3:

Just back from our first trip. We stayed at Ft Wilderness so Hoop Dee Do was easy access for us. It was a lot of high energy singing and dancing and really quite funny but IMO not worth the price. We wouldn't have done it if we didn't have the free dining plan.

Food is plentiful but no selection. There is a bowl of tossed salad (dressing already on it) and a slab of cornbread on the table when you're seated. They bring out buckets of fried chicken and BBQ ribs and small dishes of BBQ flavored baked beans and rather tastless mashed potatoes. Then everyone gets strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Since I'm a Disney newbie I don't have a good alternate selection, but I'm sure others will.

Being on the DDP for free made it OK for us to go to HDDR with the sticker price, when we went to pick up our tickets we saw it came to $109.98 for 2 adults in category 2 and glad we didn't actually have to pay OOP for it and how anyone WOULD pay that much.

After the show, we understood why people pay for HDDR- it was very fun and very worth it!!! The food is very good, the show was even better. But think about it, you get a good & filling dinner, unlimited beer, wine or sangria, you get some great entertainment for 2 hours and tips are included. Then we thought, if we ever had to pick between paying for HDDR or MNSSHP, we'd have a hard time deciding and we LOVE MNSSHP!

I can't even tell you how happy we were going to HDDR!

Thank you everyone for all the great input.
I guess I should have made sure they had availability before I got my hopes up :(
I am a little surprised that there is NOTHING open there on the 15th which is a Thursday.
They have the 9:30 show and that would just never work, we eat very early at home so by 9:30 we would be very cranky and hungry :(

Thanks guys I guess I will stick with Boma (first plan)
