So we are making reservations for the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. One sister is thrilled, the other not as much.

If you have seen it, what did you think? I personally am kinda excited; it sounds cool and very Disneyish!

DH & I enjoyed it!

Yes, it is corny but also energetic & the performers talented! they do go out in the audience & seemed to get to everyone!
We thought the food was decent, too.
While waiting for our seating we enjoyed cocktails & wonderful chats with fellow guests out on the porch of Trail's End

We've always enjoyed it, as have everyone we've taken along.

I will say that I tell someone I'm taking that I think they'll like it but I don't go on and on about it, or tell them details, or anything. Anytime someone hypes up something for me, I usually walk away disappointed because it's overhyped. So I just let the show speak for itself and so far, people have always been pleasantly surprised.

We loved it. I have seen it 2x. Once in 1995 & then this past July.

My girls saw it for the 1st time and they loved it. They are still singing the song.

Yes, it is corny but I think it's good clean entertainment. Oh yeah, and the food was good too!

last year I booked it for our Dec trip...my husband and 7 year old son were less than thrilled with the idea... they both loved it and my husband went back to work and told all his buddies about it

Yes it's corny, but fun too! My 14 month old nephew was TOTALLY ENTHRALLED by the performers ... it was the best meal of our trip in that we didn't have to worry about keeping him entertained for a minute.

As for the five adults in our group ... we enjoyed HDDR but preferred Spirit of Aloha.

Pretty corny and silly. Kids like it a lot and really laugh. As adults, we're only so-so on it. We, too, prefer the Spirit of Aloha.

The food at HDDR is fair at best. The service has always been perfunctory in our experience, presumably because the gratuity is included in the price.

I was just looking at pictures we took at last year's trip and the Hoop De Doo. My daughter (5 then) just had pure joy on her face. She laughed the entire time. We all enjoyed it and loved the presentation of the dessert. As my grandpa would say, "it's just good old fashion fun."

We loved it too. We didn't have the best seats, but we still had a great time! I enjoyed the food a lot! Some of the best ribs I have had in a long time. The dessert was awesome too! YUM! The show was a lot of fun too :)

I look at it this way...if the show wasn't good, it wouldn't be running for what, 30-something year nows?

As many people have said, yeah the show is corny. It's absolutely, positively mindless and runs on silly jokes and slapstick. And besides having the best fried chicken this side of the Mississippi (now that Branch Ranch has closed) it has songs so catchy that you'll be singing "Ya-HOO! Hoop-Dee-Doo!" for the rest of your vacation.

Go. You'll have a fun time!

It's okay. Very expensive and the food is so so. But if you all get into it, it can be a good time.

We go every year. Dh and DD love it so much they asked if we could go a second time last year and cancel one of our other ressies. So we did. This year we just made two ADRs at 180 days. As another poster stated the same show has been running for some 30 years. If it wasn't a crowd pleaser Disney would have gotten rid of it long ago. However, you still see people that don't care for it. HTH:)

We don't like sticking to a schedule. What are the chance of getting in without ADR's?

We love it. We usually try and make room in our schedule to go on every trip. Yes, it is very corny, but to us, that's what makes it funny. We've had a very close friend of ours get picked 4 times to be the ballerina at the end. He is always so willing to be part of the show, it makes it even funnier.

We went to the HDDR and took my parents. We all enjoyed it very much!!! I'd love to see it again. Very entertaining.

How is third tier seating? That is where we are for going in September and we are first timers.

You might get in a 9:30 show, but you'll need to call or check at concierge that morning. And how is that not planning?
