Hoop-dee-doo

The food, which is what this forum is about, was horrible. Fatty, cold and served in a bucket. It was terrible.

The show...how corny can you get? If you love NASCAR you might like it. Otherwise rent some old Hew Haw TV shows and you can get the same lame jokes!

It IS an amusement park/resort afterall that somehow is able to feed hundreds of thousands of folks everyday. There are NUMEROUS posts on this board about the show - you HAD to know that the show/music/jokes were corny before going.:confused3 You can't NOT find a post about the food and corniness of the show or the food. Hell, this is why we are finally going (first time next month) - I've got to see the show myself and we've been to the world MANY times but have never gone to this show. After being in the parks all day, I'm sure the grub will hit the spot just fine. Besides I don't expect them to cook for hundreds like I cook for my family on the grill! Lighten up a little and take it for what it is - a show (first and foremost) that happens to serve food (secondarily).

I just made reservations for December for category 1 at the second seating (mom is in a wheelchair so only category 1 is available to us.) I'm glad they have categories now. When I was last there in 2001 they didn't and we had a problem then with mom not being able to walk the stairs to where we were supposed to be sitting. (They switched tables and found seats on the main floor for us then.) This time I'm taking my DH who has never seen the show and a niece and nephew. I'm hoping the kids like it.

We have seen the HDDR twice and loved it both times. It is a great show for all ages. The food is great too! It is my understanding that it has been running since the 70s. It is still hugely popular. I have also done the Polynesian Luaau and think the HDDR beats it by far.

I was a Can Can Girl too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao: We love the HDDR show and are taking DD6.5 there for the first time on our Aug/Sept trip.

:cool1: Glad to hear you had a WONDERFUL time!!!!!!!!!!!

Are they still serving the cornbread? I loved the loaves of bread they used to have with the honey butter. I was delicious.

::yes:: We Love the Hoop De Doo!!!! Everyone always ask "we are doing HDDR right"::yes:: Wouldnt miss it!!:dance3: :dance3:

Thanks for all the positive reviews. We are planning on doing it for the first time in January. I was wondering though....Do they have a spot for a Can Can Man!!;)

After the 9:30 show (and sometimes earlier), cast members will direct you to resort buses parked just 20 yards away.

We are headed back to the fort in October. We will be going to the HDDR for the first time. My question is, do you "pre-pay" for the meal when you make your ressie's. I know we had to last year when we ate @ the castle.

Thanks!

Awwwwwww...it was over 8 years ago!!!! :lmao: I was younger, thinner, and prettier...now I have a kid...don't judge me!!!;)

We sat right in the front row...the tables along the stage. The CM appeared just as I was going to dig into my Strawberry Shortcake dessert.:scared1: My now DH saved my dessert from being collected and although it was all melty, it was the perfect end to a FUN night (if you call putting on a pink ruffle tutu and being laughed at hysterically by strangers "FUN"). :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We also got the "pleasure" of getting the table in the front and center, so the CMs were constantly using us in their skits. It was hysterical!
