Hoop Dee Doo Worth Money

How is it different than Whispering Canyon? Both are slapstick comedy. I would appreciate any help.

Last week we stayed at the WL and did both. It was my wife and I, a 6,4, and 3 year old.

The HDD cost us $145
The WC about $90

I thought both were very good. The food at WC is better then at the HDD. It cost us about $50 more for the HDD but you have to remember that you are getting a show. At the WC there is no show, Its just some entertainment that gets old after about 45 min or so.

This was my second time at the HDD. The first time I went I didn't like the show at all. I gave it a second chance and really enjoyed it this time.

This is a good question. I have HHD booked for July 2004 but am considering changing it to a Whispering Canyon's ressie. I'm gping to read all I can about both so that I can decide. The whispering Canyon's experience sounds like so much fun for half the price. Decisions, decisions!

I've been to both and they are not comparable as far as "fun". The HDDR is a dinner show that has people on a stage singing, dancing, and telling jokes. The food was good and I was able to get DD a hotdog as she won't touch any of the food there. I would go there again as we really liked it. The Whispering Canyon is just a restaurant where you get dinner. You MIGHT get a server that jokes with you but it pales in comparison to the HDDR in terms of entertainment. We also liked the food at Whispering Canyon, more so then HDDR, but it was just dinner. Our server was just a server and barely said anything funny. I also didn't notice too much going on in the full dining room. Someone asked for ketchup and a big deal was made. There was also a stick pony race but nothing else. That was it! No jokes, no dancing, no music, no singing. Just dinner. So if you are looking to be entertained then the HDDR is for you. If you just want to eat and have a nice time then Whispering Canyon is the way to go.

I always try to book the HDD. It doesn't seem like a trip to Disney without it. This last time (July 2003) we had two 15 year olds with us who had tried to be "cool" all week. That ended at the HDD when both of them were laughing and eating as hard as they could. Even the two year old was laughing, I'm not sure he knew what he was laughing about, but he was having a good time. I'm so glad we did it again even though we've been many times before. My DS (15) said he had forgotten how much fun it was.

We went when my DD were 5 and 7 and they were both belly laughing. I would recommend going to anyone.

We are also thinking about doing HDDR for our upcoming trip! We have never done it before either, but we did do WC for bkfst. and dinner on our last trip in Oct.(stayed at VWL) We enjoyed dinner quite a lot! We had a table in front of the fireplace, which was very nice! My 6yo. enjoyed the stick pony races and all the cutting up with the ketchup, etc. But, the bkfst. wasn't very exciting! We also got the skillets, but just thought they were okay! We will definately go back though! The bannana dust bowl was a great desert! If you go for dinner, try it. It is enough for two! My ds also loved the worms in dirt! happy planning!:Pinkbounc
