I'd like to try HDD but am trying to figure out which day of my trip to go. Would it be easier to go on the day we plan on being at MK, that way we could just take the boat there. We don't have park hoppers so we have to make the best of our time. But we do plan on going to MK 2 days. How long should I estimate the trip from MK to HDD?
Thanks

We did the Hoop Dee Doo on one of the days we were at Magic Kingdom. We rode the boat to Fort Wilderness and it was great. The show is great and the food is not bad either. Have fun!! :thumbsup2

Well we did something a little different when we were there in Nov. We love the MK so much that I hate to cut any time there short. So we went on our AK day. We spent the whole day at AK and then at the end of the day instead of taking a bus back to our hotel (Pop) we just took a bus to Ft. Wilderness. It worked out really well since AK closed at 5pm that day anyhow and without a hopper pass what are you going to do the rest of that evening anyway? (rest maybe!!LOL) Also once the show was over they had bus's outside to take you back to your resort.

We did the same type of thing on the night we went to O'hana's. We spent the day at MGM and since we weren't staying for Fantasmic that particular night we left the park around 6pm and took a bus to the Poly for dinner then rode the monorail over to the MK to catch the bus back to Pop afterward.

I was really affraid we would spend too much of our time trying to get to and from all our meals since we were on the dining plan but I must pat myself on the back and say that my insane amount of planning paid off!

This is exactly what I've planned to do. I'm so glad to hear it worked out for you! :flower1:

Last trip we took boat over after MK and it was great-
THis trip Oct 06 we are doing HDDR on our day "off". Still plan on taking MK boat.

Now getting from HDDR that is the question... last time thought it would be fun to go to DTD after (last nite of trip) Well the bus scene leaving that area was a confusing mess (couldve just been us) took forever.
This time we will take boat back to Mk (i think)

Have fun - it is a ashow not to be missed!

I always take the boat from the MK as I hate the bus service. If you catch a boat right away, the boat ride is about 10 minutes. Sometimes you have to wait for a boat, or the boat docks there and waits a bit for people. I would give yourself 30 minutes to get over there. Most likely you will arrive early, but that's okay.

Yes we did that last year with our AK day and went to Chef Mickey's! Worked out perfect! Our AK day however this time is our 10yr anniversary and me and hubby are going to dine by ourselves that night and drop the kiddos off at a kid's club......and I'm still trying to decide where to dine that night and what club to put the kids in...there are so MANY decisions :confused3

We plan on doing HDDR on our non-park day. We will go to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique with DD in the afternoon and then go to HDDR from DTD. That way we can sleep in one morning, swim at the pool and then do a little shopping.

We like to do it on our arrival day. This usually gives us chance to just relax and check out the resort, unpack, etc. Then we head over to Pioneer Hall. It's a great way to start your vacation.

Last year when we did Hoop we did it on our water park day. It works out perfectly because the water parks close earlier than the 4 major parks. Just back to the resort for a quick change and off to dinner and a show. If you go to the 7:15 show you can still make it to the park (maybe for emh) afterwards. Even without going to the park after it works great. So well infact, that it's exactly what we are doing again this year. :)

:woohoo: Just booked for 9/3 for the 5:00 show!!!! Perfect! We will check in go to MK take the boat over when it is time for dinner and come back to MK for the EMH hours :)
I was pleasantly suprised, I had no trouble getting the weeks reservations I wanted :)

We'll be at EPCOT on our Hoop De Doo day, does anybody know how to get there from EPCOT???? :confused3 I'm almost thinking of changing our park day for that dinner just for the ease of thte boat. Help........

Not a big deal. Get on the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. Get off the monorail there, walk down to the boat transporation and look for the one that says that it goes to the resorts. There will be a boat that can take you directly to Fort Wildnerness campground.
