Hoop Dee Doo vs. Spirit of Aloha

We want to do a dinner show on our next trip and I can't decide between Hoop Dee Doo and the Luau. We are staying at the Poly so Luau would be more convenient. Our 3 kids are ages 5 - 10 and I think they would have a blast either way . Just wanted to get some opinions. Also, anyone know if these are 1 or 2 TS on the DDP? Thanks!

Hoop de doo hands down..everyone will like it.

I haven't been to the lua(sp) , but the reviews at allears are very mixed and it didn't score well overall

Don't waste your time at the barbeque either..that is a waste.

We have done both. My dd was 10 when we did the Luau, and then 11 when we did HDDR. She asked to go back to HDDR for her 13th birthday!! No interest whatsoever in the Luau again. We did like the food better at HDDR also. It's just a different type of show....more slapstick type comedy.

Hoop-Dee-Doo. Poly Luau is nice, but there is no contest about which is the better show, IMHO.

They both require 2 TS credits per person.

I would say it depends on the type of food you like because as far as quality and entertainment, I found them quite the same. If you like polynesian food (ribs, chicken, rice, veggies) then go with the Laua, if you like country fried foods, like fried chicken, taters and stuff then go with the HDD. Hoop Dee was funny and the Laua was cute, so there ya go, I've helped NONE

We're doing the Laua again, I haven't been there in a few years and can't wait to do it again. Have fun wherever you decide!

I've gone to both shows as a child and most recently with my nephews. Both times I prefered the Hoop Dee Doo. My nephews found the luau a bit long but were entertained for the entire Hopp Dee doo Show.
