Which one for two young adults?

If I got it right, food is the same or very similar, can someone please confirm? Quality-wise is also the same?

We are foreigners. Language is not a problem, but I wonder if we'll get the jokes on Hoop-Dee-Doo (are there many cultural references / "inner jokes"?)

Mickey's BBQ is really geared towards young children, while HDDR is broad American humor for the entire family. Have you ever seen re-runs of an old American show called "Hee-Haw"? Or been to Branson, MO? Similar types of humor. While you will find a lot of generic cultural references, the humor is not political or based on current events; the show has been the same for about 20 years now.

As far as the food, there are actually a few more choices at the BBQ but it is a serve-yourself buffet and while the seating area is covered, it is outdoors. HDDR is an indoor theater and servers bring everything to your table, family-style.

Of the two, I would strongly recommend HDDR for you.

Mickey's BBQ appears to be geared to very young children. Much of the HDDR comedy is physical or visual.

For two young adults definitely Hoop. Mickey's BBQ wasn't that great, if a family has young kids who want to dance with characters it's a good choice, but that's it. HDDR is fun for everyone!

The barbeque is definitely geared toward little kids. With young adults I strongly recommend the HDDR.
The food is much better at the HDDR too. The meal is all you care to eat
Fried Chicken, Barbeque Ribs, Mashed Potatoes, Baked Beans, Salad, and Corn Bread. There is a delicious strawberry shortcake for dessert and the price includes all you want free beverages, including Beer, Wine and Sangria.
The show is a hoot. I don't think you will miss the jokes, but it also includes lots of singing, dancing and audience participation.
It is a Disney Classic.
Have Fun

After reading all your reviews I just booked! I could only get in at 9:30 and Im wondering if its pretty dead around that time???

I would not count on it being dead, You will proberly see a full house, :rotfl:

Following your suggestion, booked for HDDR, but only got seating area #3. Still a good choice?

I love the 930pm show!!!!!!!!! Have a great time, we have been 3 times and still love it!!!!

You will find that area 3 is just as good as area 1 or 2, the CM dancers come right up and sing and dance and include area 3 just like everywhere else. Have Fun! :lmao:
