Hoop Dee Doo Transportation?

Hi everyone! Only about a month left for us!! We are staying at CSR and need advice on the best way to travel to HDDR. Bus to MK then catch a boat there to Fort Wilderness? About how long travel time should we allow to attend the 7:15 show? Thanks for any help!

I would start over at 5pm if you are at your resort. From another park take the FW bus and transfer to the internal FW bus. all routes/colors go to the Settlement depot and the HDDR.

If it's a night the MK closes early you might have to go to DTD and transfer to your resort bus to get back to your resort.

I agree. Depends on what nite you are going. Since MK closes early in Sept. and Oct.,you might have an issue using the MK as a transfer point. Unless you are going on a night that there is a not so scary party or extra hours.

First choice, id go to Epcot first and transfer to the Fort bus then transfer to the internal bus.
Second Id go to DTD and transfer to the Fort bus then the internal.

On teh return trip, there used to be a few busses that would come in and then take everyone to a point to transfer or directly to the resorts. I cant swear they still do this.

WDW buses to WDW resorts from the HDDR are directly available at Pioneer Hall only for the 7:15pm and 9:30pm shows...not the 5:30pm show.

not to hijack OP's thread I asked this Q on restaurant board this weekend. Consensus was that the buses only run after the 2nd two shows unless the MK is closed

I had wanted to book the 1st show on a MVMCP night and had questioned why the buses wouldn't be running after the 1st show (over @ approx 7 pm im told)?

Evidently, if there is a specially ticketed event, the park is not considered offically closed?

I just don't want to even contemplate trying to get back to my car in MK parking lot.

Ideally, wanted to be able to take bus to MK that am then, boat over before show, grabbing a direct bus (outside hoop de doo?) back to POR...

which im told isn't going to happen unless we book one of the latter 2 shows.

Thank you! Thank you to all who responded to my question about the transportion to HDDR. We will be leaving CSR therefore, I will plan to leave around 5:00. It will be a MNSSHP night at MK so I am assuming that transportation to and from that area will not be a problem. Otherwise, the other option is to go to Epcot then catch a bus to FW. I am now to assume that buses will be available at Pioneer Hall to return to CSR after the show. Please let me know if this is correct!! Again, many, many thanks!

Nice to know. I am going to add that to the transport map I am working on. I used to work in busses, and there was 3 busses I remember that came in from the outside,that would either go to a transfer point or go to the resorts directly. Depended on the driver, and when they were scheduled to leave work,plus the internal that used to and I stress used to run from PO. I used to drive the Fort/Port internal alot and pulled full busloads out to the parking lot before going to PO/DL.

ala the resorts...can u catch a cab outside HDD?

There are most definitely buses that go to the resorts after the 7:15 and 9:30 Hoop De Doo.

In order to catch a cab after the Hoop De Doo, you would need to take a Yellow, Purple, or Orange Outpost bus to the checkin building. Cabs do not go "into" the campground.

I have never seen the MK close so early that those leaving the 5 something early Hoop De Doo can not get a boat to the MK transportation area and get to their resort.

Also, the boat to the Contemporary runs till 11:00 something PM, so you can catch a boat to the Contemporary, then monorail to TTC, and monorail to Epcot, if for some odd reason the MK bus area is shut down by 7pm, which is highly unlikely.

There are many ways to get to your resort after Hoop De Doo. You will NOT be stranded at the Fort!! (But then again, there are lots of worse things in life than being stranded at the Fort)
