We are going in late August, and have finally been convinced (after about 12 trips) by all it's avid fans that "Hoop Dee Doo" may indeed be for us, too. Is it too late to get seats? Decent seats? Could we give dis dining our dates and would they be able to see if any of those dates had good seats? I don't want to go and get stuck in a corner of a hayloft.

I can't answer this from first-hand experience, as I'm going myself for the first time in June. However, I did extensive research, and I'd say the answers to your questions are as follows:

First, if you want to go in August, what are you reading this for? Get on the phone, NOW. Seriously, they book quick. I made our June 7 ressies in early Feb, and they were almost booked.

As for there being "good" seats left....from what eveyone told me (I had the same concern), if you define "good seats" as being front and center, you're probably out of luck for August. On the other hand, I've been told there is no 'bad' seat in the place. It's one of those wondeful architectural designs that affords good views from everywhere. And the cast, supposedly, works throughout the room to make sure everyone keeps involved. They even take folks out of the balcony to particpate.

Last year we went the last week in August. Im not positive but I want to say we booked HDD in May(if not it had to have been April). We were a party of 7 and had great seats right on the floor and up close. We were the table the performers all dance around at one point. This was also for the second show of the night.
Enjoy!!!!

The last time we went to HDD, we picked up our tickets at Guest Services when we checked into our resort. At that time, the CM asked us where we wanted to sit. We told her front & center, and she got them for us!

I always thought they assigned the seats when you made the reservations, but when we asked her, she said that they actually assign the seats when you pick up your tickets!

So, as long as you can still get into the HDD for your show in August, then don't worry about the seating til you pick up your tickets when you arrive! I would get them right away when you check in though.

Now, this is one of those things where you'll get different answers from different CM's, depending on who you ask. But, we had first-hand experience! :)

i just made ressies for the third week of august on friday. i would call now, b/c the cm said they were almost full.

We went to HDDR last June and had seats very near the stage. I made our ressies about 11 months in advance. There really isn't a bad seat and the performers go out of their way to include everyone in the room. They also do a lot of stuff from up in the balcony so no one feels left out. I am pretty sure that tables are assigned based on when the ressies were made but if you have a special event like a birthday or anniversary it never hurts to ask for special seating. HDDR is a blast, you will love it no matter where you sit.:D

I made our ressies last year around Christmas time for a show in March (Easter Week, at that), and we got in the front row!! Not quite front and center, but almost. We were right in front of the piano.
