With a party of two at Hoop Dee Doo, would we have our own table, or would they seat us with other small parties?

We ate there last month as a party of two. We were on the upper level and were seated with another party. The tables are long and you all sit on the same side. My boyfriend was on the end. On the main floor they are regular tables so I don't know how that would work but I was told that you would not be with another party.

My wife and I have been 5 times and always had a table for just the 2 of us. We were on the premium plan show was included in package not sure if this had anything to do with it.

We were there in Feb for the 9:30 show and got our own table. It was right next to the stage. It was sooooo coool!
However when we went in 1999 they did put us with a table that had two other families at it. I really like having our own table.

Thanks for your replies.

What is the premium plan show package about?
How early can we book Hoop dee doo?

(We're going the end of April 09 to celebrate our 25th anniversary).

The premium package is an add on which includes 3 meals a day and various recreation and tours. Pricing for premium is $150/night/person

For the Hoop Dee Doo, premium allows for category 1 seating and only costs 1 credit (all meals on premium cost just 1 credit).

I just booked our Feb HDDR show. At the HDDR there are three catagories of seating ( catagory 1 is closest to the stage). We use the disney dining deluxe plan and HDDR is a two credit per person dinner but worth it. If you go to the two earlier shows and use DDxP you will be seated in either catagory 2 or 3. However if you use the DDxP and go to the 9:30 showing you will be seated in the catagory 1 section.
We have been to the show two times in 5 visits and love it.

At the Hoop Dee Doo we have always been seated at our own table. I am susrprised to hear that others have had different experiences. We have also always sat in Tier 1 seating, if that makes a difference.
Enjoy the Hoop Dee Doo, it is great!!!

We're staying at SOG so we can't participate in the dining plan.
If we pay for Tier One, does that guarantee floor seats? (And I assume, a table for two?)

Category 1 seating is all on the main floor. A party of two would definitely be seated alone. DH and I have been seated at a table for 2 or 4 in the past in category 1.

The Hoop Dee Doo can be booked 180 days in advance. I know there are some temporary changes for reservations next year while they upgrade the reservation system, so I'm not sure when you'd be able to make reservations - it might be in Nov once the new system goes live.

this Th night and it was empty! First of all, everything says "get there 30min early." So everyone is melting in the heat, and they don't open the doors until exactly 5pm. We were on the DDP so we had a table near the back on the floor, which was fine. But it was very odd.. about 12 tables in front of us were empty. I'm sure with free dining people didn't want to pay for level 1 seating.. but why not let people come, or move us up? It looked very strange.

Just ask the cm when you make your reservations. If you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary make sure to let them know when you do make your ADR's.

:) I've been there 4times in the past 9 years and always sat at a tabel for two. I went yrs agoon my honeymoon and sat on the upper level with just the two of us at a table. I was goign to go this yr but decided not to, I will be in MGM so I rtaher not bounce around and did BD

we were just there this past thursday for the 7:15 show. it was full, but there were plenty of people sitting at 2 tops. that could be quite uncomfortable if you were seated with other people as you share all the food. teir one does gaurantee floor seats in the front. we had teir two and were on the floor. i dont think i would pay for teir one though. there really wasnt a bad seat and they come out into the crowd so to me it wouldnt be worth the extra money.

There is no way I would want to sit with strangers and having to share the food the way it is served. I have done that in the one that cooks your food right at you table and had other people but we were served plated dinners that we picked, but I suppose sharing isno different then going to a buffet if you like them. :)

Gail T, I'm with you. It would feel awkward sharing a table/food with total strangers, especially for an anniversary trip!
Think I'll try for Tier 1 for the extra $.
Thanks all for your replies!

You won't actually share food with anyone not in your party - each party will get its own set of food. I believe its just a long table with seats on one side (or maybe more than 1 table) - so instead of having a small space between tables, its just one continuous line. If there are six seats and there is a party of two and a party of four, they will bring out a separate salad, cornbread, etc for each group.
