Hoop Dee Doo Seating question

Hi there! We are about to book a table for 5... But I'm on the fence as to which category to go with. Is category 1 worth the extra money? Is category 3 THAT bad?

I'd appreciate any help!

I'll tell you this. If you want to be immersed in the experience CAT 1 or II is the only way you go. The players get off the stage and walk around you and it feels like you are part of the show. If you are on the balcony then you are just watching. Sometimes the cast goes upstairs but only for a fleeting moment and you don't really feel like a part of the show. This is my own opinion but the CAT I seating is WAY worth it.

I believe you can only get Cat 2 or 3 if on Dining Plan (even Deluxe), unless you go to the late (9:30?) show. Then you can get Cat I. Not 100% sure though.

That is exactly right! It's the 8:30pm show that you get CAT 1.

This will be our third trip and we opted for the 8:30 show to get Cat 1 on the dining plan. First year we lucked out and got Cat2 on the main floor, but second year got Cat2 in balcony. So much better on main floor. Would not go again in the balcony and especially not Cat 3.

I just booked my reservation on the phone and got Cat 2 for the 4 pm show on the DDP ( couldn't do 8 pm show, kids too young). Now the CM said something about being on the balcony or floor with cat 2 but didn't ask which I wanted. Is it first come, first serve within your cat when you arrive?

You can call it "first come first serve" but in reality they know where you are going to sit before you walk through the door. As soon as you walk in they take you right to the table you were pre-assigned. I hope that answers your question!

I hate to say no to this right away because when we did request the floor seating the cast member on the phone told me they can't guarantee anything inside the CAT 2 seating.

Basically you get what you get.

HOWEVER, I did make the phone call asking the question about requesting it and I got on the floor towards the middle. That could have been pure luck or maybe they made a note....either way the real answer to your question is no.

My family has tried all 3 categories. We really enjoyed categories 1 and 3. Category 2 was fine but it was our least favourite of the categories. We were off the the side under the balcony and it just wasn't nearly as good of a view. In category 1 we were lucky enough to be right up by the stage which was great. It was close though and just like when you watch a movie from really close, you're looking back and forth to see everything rather than seeing everything all together. One of the characters heard something one of my kids said and commented on it. It was hilarious and very memorable. In category 3 we had a wonderfully unobstructed view from which we could take in the whole show. To us it was the best overall view of all the categories. But, the downside to category 3 is that you aren't facing anybody in your party. You're in one long row on the same side of the table so if you want to chat or interact with those in your group during the intermission when you're eating then it's difficult.

What about handicapped seating? Is that available in ALL categories?

Yes. If you're in category 2 upstairs or in category 3 then you'll be placed at one of the reserved accessible tables at the back. When my DD was in a wheelchair she could walk so we let her decide if she wanted to sit at the back or try to climb the stairs. She chose the stairs because she preferred the idea of looking down on the whole theater rather than sitting at the back.

Can you request a floor seat on cat 2?

No. They fill tables I think a few days ahead of time based on the order in which you booked your tickets. The table assigners just start placing people in order at tables. Requests are not taken. If you're among the first half of the category 2 guests to book then you'll probably be on the ground floor otherwise you'll be upstairs.
