Hoop Dee Doo Revue

I was interested in HDDR last time we visited and then changed my mind at the last minute, but I'm not sure why :confused3

I'm under the impression it's a dinner/show, but what kind of show? Would it be suitable for us Brits, or something we wouldn't 'get'? I mean no offence by that btw, it's just we don't sometimes get everything that's American, as we all hold different humours.

Sorry for jumping in OP...

The HDDR is always our first night's dinner. We love it and it puts us in the mood for the rest of the vacation. Besides, we like it better than the Spirit of Aloha.

It is country but the corny jokes and silly songs are things that the kids love. I would say at least give it a chance.

We did it once, and are torn whether to do it again.
have friends joining us next trip and this is a must do for them.... thought we'd join them for it, but we can't decide!

Really it comes down to my kids did NOT like the food.... so is a lot to use up 2 dining credits when nothign for them. Even myself... eh, ribs and salad. We dont' like strawberry shortcake or cornbread and dont like the chicken there.
The show itself was fun...

I said last time eh, no need to really do it again, was very nice to experience. Said if ever do it again would be if my friends ever go to WDW with us... which finally they are, and still I can't decide. Just for us seems not worth doing again.
oh, they did bring out uncrustables for my kids... which they aren't fans of those. And kinda dumb to pay 2 dining credits for uncrustables.

We changed our minds since my last post. I just made cat 1 HDDR reservations for one evening of our Oct trip. We decided we had way too much fun last time so we're going again.

I'd try calling for HDDR. I know I couldn't book it when my 180 opened and had my TA do it and got Cat 1 no problem. I know other's have had problems at their 180 online, so give a call.

I don't know why I didn't say this in my post before, but (like everything else at WDW) just check it out on You Tube if you're trying to decide.

I usually rotate dinner shows on my trips, but HDDR is always a great treat...especially if I am bringing someone along who has never had the Disney experience.

Food is good - last time the potatos were quite nasty, but everything else was prime!

I say go for it!

Thanks so much for all your opinions. I guess I am gonna keep trying for it. :thumbsup2 I am also checking on you tube. Thanks for that. :cool1:
