This will be our 4th trip to Disneyworld since our children were little, now DD is 25 & DS is 27 & DDinLaw 25, no grandchildren. We have never seen the Hoop Dee Doo Revue, booked it the first night of our trip since we are staying in FW. Having second thoughts, is this a good idea or would something else be better for our age group.

You all will love the show, its kind of hokey but really funny and the food is very good as well.
The first time we went my children were 12 & 7 and now they are 23 & 19 and they love seeing the Hoopdedoo. My husband saw it for the first time this past January and he had a great time.

Most definately do it. We have done it twice, and enjoyed both times. Not just for kids ... last time I got to go up and play the cymbal. My three minutes of Disney fame ...

HDDR is GREAT for adults. You just have to know what to expect. It's not a show that is at all serious. It's a lot of slap-stick humor and early American History Music (like stuff from Steven Foster).

Go into it ready to have a fun (and slightly silly) time and some great camp-style food.

I do the "Review" every time I get a chance. It's a blast.

Gotta agree having been there 4 times in 3 years! I warned my teenage son before going down the first time in 2003 that I was going to have a good time and act foolish at Disney. HDDR gave me a good opportunity. I sang along and waved my napkin and yelled YAHOO! Even cynical teen son got into it with his washboard and spoon! From then on we all loosened up and enjoyed ourselves. Go ahead have a good time and don't forget to act foolish!

Why Not Try It ??!!
My Hubby and I Went there before we had kids and had a blast !!
( Fun, Food, Silliness, Entertainment You Can't Find Anywhere Else, Plus all you Can Drink Beer & Wine)
Ask yourself ??? Can we find a place like this is our hometown ???
Of course not, we have been three times over 8 years and already have ressies for our next trip....(Now with 2 kids, parents & sister's family) And They All Want to Go Again.
It's Really fun, sit back, enjoy the Goofy-ness, and the food is hearty !!
P.S. Can you tell our group of 10 really liked it !!!
:hyper: :flower3:

You should definitely do the Hoop-dee-doo! We've gone numerous times - when the kids were little and now that they are older. The show is great - participation is a must! Sing, wave those napkins, stomp your feet, etc!! My husband was called up to be the Indian one year. They gave him this neat certificate that I framed... it's still up on our wall! The food is served family style in buckets - my DD loves the apple butter - she wants to go back just for that! Everything is very good. The dessert is part of the show - they come off the stage with the strawberry shortcake! It's gotten a little pricey -the first time we went it was $15.95! Everyone thought that was alot !- but when you consider a dinner & show - you can't beat it! So enjoy! You'll be singing the Hoop-de-doo song all the way back to the hotel! :rolleyes1

This was by far the highlight of our trips to WDW. The first time, we went as newlyweds and enjoyed it so much that we decided it would forever be a first-day tradition for us.

Went again this past Christmas with my mom, brother and our 2-year old son and it was the best time. My brother was called up on stage to be the "star of the show."

It's my favorite dining experience at Disney, without a doubt. A little on the pricey side, but the food is good and the entertainment is first-rate. The jokes never get old, no matter how many times you hear them.

When we stayed at FW this past Christmas, I would sneak out to the trading post area just to listen to some of the music from outside.

I can't wait for my next HDDR experience.

Yes! Definetly go! You will have a great time. As others have mentioned it is good old fashion fun for all. If you are celebrating a special occasion be sure to mention it. They usually ask if anyone is celebrating a birthday or anniversary..and they will make a fuss. My husband was celebrating birthday and actress in the show kept referring to him during the performance...stop and ask "what does Bob from NY think?"...very funny...and then she came into audience and would run her fingers through his hair...he was mortified..but laughed and it was very funny. When we went back to our hotel(we were staying at the Wilderness Lodge) a young boy was in the elevator with his dad as we were going up to our room. He kept pulling on this dad's arm..and his dad finally asked him what it was he wanted..the little boy pointed at my husband and said..."look Dad, it's Bob from NY'! Apparently they had just been to the show also.
It's quite a few years since we've gone..but wouldn't miss it on our next trip to Disney.

Well, I definitely think we are going to keep the ressie for the first night. Thanks to everyone for their advice! I am so excited cannot wait to be in Disney.
