Hoop Dee Doo Question(s)

The buses are lined up right outside - can't miss them :) All marked with the names of each hotel.

We've used them twice now to get back to our resort after HDDR.

1) That does work.
2) But, next time, mosey over to the Chip-n-Dale Campfire within FW.

NOTE1: We find this to be a really great activity for either the first night at
WDW, or the last night before going home. Good time for family bonding, and
nice to veg-out. Do a Trails End dinner or Hoop-Dee-Do prior to Campfire.

Okay so now I'm (slightly) bummed - we have late tier 1 seats to HDDR. Should I (can I?) try and get earlier seating? We prepaid but I honestly do not know the cancellation policy...

They told us at the show. When you exit look right, you will see a few buses sitting there and CMs will guide you to the right bus. It worked out great, particularly since our resort was our buses' first stop. It was just getting there that was a LONG commute.

Thank you both. We are doing HDDR with my daughter who is doing the CP so we would have access to a car but DD and I want the adult beverages and my son does not like to drive in unfamiliar areas

Did with my DD on DCP. You probably already did check but ... when we went DCP discount was HUGE!

We always just pick up the ticket at our resort concierge the day before our ADR- this year I will just do that when I check-in since we are going to HDDR the next night. If you have 1 table reserved, you will just get 1 printed ticket with your info on it.

How come I never knew this and been going to the 2nd show for the last 4 years! What a waste of time if you don't know or aren't planning on going to MK afterwards. Last year we took a bus to DTD and then another bus back to Riverside because we thought that was the only way if you didn't want to take the boat to MK. It took us almost 2 hours to get back to POFQ that night! Lol So this year, when we are finished the 6:15 show, we can just ask a CM and they will direct us and we will be able to take a bus straight to our resorts? That is great!

I don't know if you could call and switch show times. Couldn't hurt to ask. The earlier HDDR show is at 4pm. That's our pick. When the show is over, we take the internal bus (yellow or orange) to Meadows Trading post for the campfire and singalong. You'd have to keep track of the time in order to take the internal bus back to HDDR area, and get the HDDR bus back to your resort. Ask HDDR staff approx times of the buses after the 2nd and 3rd shows.

Ticket Pick-Up:
. . . up to 7-days prior to show date at any Concierge or any Park/DTD Guest Services
. . . within 2-hrs prior to show-time only at HDDR Box Office at Fort Wilderness
. . . box office windows are to the left of Pioneer Hall at FW
So I could stop at guest services at MK to pick them up? That would make life easier since were getting in late tonight before and we have to be at Magic Kingdom for an 8 Am BOG.

Yes you can. There's Guest Relations outside the park to the right of the main gate entry, and once inside the park there's another Guest Relations to the left, at City Hall on the Town Square. Inside GR might have a shorter wait for service.

Good to know.
If I pick up the tickets ahead of time then being at the boat dock by 3:00 for the 4:00 show should work right?
Thanks

I'd add 15 minutes to your timeline. Set a goal for Boat Dock at 2:45. It might take you longer than expected to get to the dock from inside the park. If you goal is 3pm, and you're delayed, you'd be cutting it close. Maybe I'm just a worrywart. There's no telling what time the boat will arrive at the MK dock. The ride is about 12 minutes, but it's a big boat and takes time to dock, load, and take off again.

EDITED TO ADD: MK has a 3pm parade, "Festival of Fantasy." All the more reason to start out for the dock earlier. The sidewalks will have crowds and paths across roads will start to get roped off.

I am a worry wart too LOL. I will probably start dragging my husband and daughter towards the front by 230 since we no longer have small children I guess if we get there early we can always grab a drink while waiting.

Ok so, the day of my HDDR ADR (at 8:15) I'll be at Universal. If I leave there around 4 in my rental car and get back to ASMo around 5 then take a bus and arrive at MK around 6, then take the boat to HDDR and arrive around 7 - does this sound do-able?

I always rather enjoyed taking the internal FW buses. Some people are definitely in more of a rush than I am..... it is beautiful there and a good way to see the campground!

Sounds like a plan. You'll be leaving Universal at rush hour, so you've given yourself a cushion of time. You've also given yourself generous time for bus to MK and boat to FtW.

We will be picking up tickets at some point before the show. But I've always wondered...if you have to have an ADR to be checked in (most places), what is the purpose for having to pick up show tickets? Shouldn't the location already know you have purchased the seat for the dinner show?

My guess. Hoop Dee Doo, to me, is an performance venue which also serves food. Same thing with Spirit of Aloha show at Polynesian Village. Might be gov't/business requirements that performance events sell tickets. Restaurants are a trade not requiring ticket for entry.

I am in Magic Kingdom the day of my reservation for HDDR at 6:15. My plan was to take the boat. How much time to allow for that trip? Could I get Uber to pick me up at at front of MK and drive me to HDDR to save time?

On our last trip (in August), we hopped on the bus marked Magic Kingdom from the Wilderness Lodge to get to HDDR. The bus took the back road, so the trip took under 4 minutes, and dropped us off at the bus stop right by the pony paddock and entrance to HDDR. We took a bus going the reverse direction back to the WL after the show. We usually prefer to take the boats from WL to FW, since the dock is also right by HDDR, but bad weather had the boats stalled that evening.
