Hi everyone! Does anyone have an opinion of Hoop Dee Doo or Mickey's BBQ? We were thinking of doing one and not sure which one is better. We are a party of 5 - 2 adults, one 9 year old, one 6 year old, and a 3 year old. Thanks!

Thanks! Would you prefer one tier over another? Cost difference is minimal but not sure how the views are. (maybe three is actually better b/c it is looking down?)

hoop dee doo is great! go with tier one the price isnt that different. fried chicken is awesome! plus all you can drink beer and wine.

Hands down the BBQ. Your kids will want to poke their eyeballs out at the HDDR. And on top of tht, the food is blech.....

The BBQ is a buffet. Lots of stuff for the kids and all they can eat ice cream bars! And....they get to get up from the tables, dance, run around and have fun being a kid! Music is good, the rope tricks are great and the character interaction is wonderful! (Tip, if you do go, have your oldest up front when the rope guy asks for a volunteer. He tends to pick older kids :) )

Waiting for the pavillion to open....

We have done HDD two years in a row and my kids loved it more than CRT. We have not done Mickey's BYBBQ. I'm sure either will be wonderful. I would point out out to consider the time of year you are going. When we go it's HOT so we really like that HDD is air conditioned after a long day in the parks. Have fun!

HDD. Is a whole experience, music, singing, some interaction amongst guests, great easy Fun food and very Upbeat and Lively... I would think especially for kids ur ages. The food is DElish too. ( ages since BBQ.. but we d opt HDR)
It's repeat visits for us and still greatly enjoyed. And it's indoors so no weather issues. Get there a little early, walk about a little.. fun taking boat from MK area and arriving that way instead of double buses.
Enjoy whichever you choose.

I've been going to HDD every trip for five years now. Yes, the food is limited to fried chicken and ribs, but it's all so tasty! And I find the show to be very entertaining. Everyone I know loves it and laughs through the whole show. Plus side is that it's indoors so no matter the weather, you will be inside.

On our last trip I wanted something special for our first day, a new tradition for all of our trips to come, so I booked Mickey's BYBBQ (we do HDD the night before we leave). Never again. I think it has so much potential, but it is really lacking in too many areas for us. The food, traditional picnic food, was bland and dry (though the Mickey bars were great, as always). I was not a fan of eating at picnic tables rather than tables with chairs, just my personal preference. And I really didn't care for the entertainment. The singers sang some country music and there was a rope performer. Not horrible, but not spectacular either. Mickey and friends do come out and dance for some of the songs, and that's fun for the kids, though also gets pretty crowded up on the floor. I would rather go to a character meal at Tusker House for individual character interactions. It wasn't a horrible experience, just not what I was looking for for a vacation kickoff. We're gonna go to Raglan Road for our first night next time.

My kids love Hoop-Dee-Doo. (It is NOT a "sit quietly and watch the show" atmosphere.)

Over the years I have brought my kids at every age from 6 mo to 16 years. They have all enjoyed it. Though I will admit that it is my (suit and tie banker) husband who enjoys it the most.

We always opt for Mickeys BBQ, absolutely love it. We are going on Thursday actually! We have a 10, 8, and 2 year old.

Wow - rare enough gh to see so many positive reviews for Mickey's BBQ. I am excited because I am taking my 3.5yr old niece to it in August. Country tunes and corny dancing with characters sound right up my alley! But from everything I have read/seen, it is best to experience with a little kid.Sadly, by the time we were at the stage to consider going to the BBQ, I realized my kids were a bit too old for it. Whereas HDDR is awesome for all ages (we've done it twice now).
