My soon to be husband and I are going to be going down for our honeymoon in September. We were planning to go to what we hope is a halloween party on the 10th but we need to figure out dinner. I just stumbled across the HDDMR and boy, does it look like fun! Do you think two adults can go and enjoy themselves? I was looking at the 4pm show. Do you think we could make it to the Halloween party by 6:30? Besides BOG, there isn't any sit-downs that I want to go to in MK and we are already doing that for lunch. We also have a car so what is the best way to do it? Drive to FW and then drive back to MK or park at MK and then take the boat/Bus over? Any advice and reviews you could give would be awesome. Thanks! :)

I love Hoop Dee Doo, and would recommend it to just about everyone. You will be cutting it pretty close though if you want to be at the Magic Kingdom by 6:30 (mainly because you will be with everyone else leaving the 4:00 show also trying to get transportation).

The best way to get to Hoop Dee Doo in your case would be to take the boat from Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness. The boat from MK is much faster, as if you were driving, you would have to park at the front of Fort Wilderness and take a bus in to Pioneer Hall, then do the same leaving. Then parking at Magic Kingdom, you would have to take the monorail or boat from the parking lot to the park. The boat from Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness takes you to the dock at Fort Wilderness, which is a short walk away from Pioneer Hall.

I would not do it on a party night. You can get into the parks at 4pm with your party ticket. Usually the lines for rides are lower as people start leaving before the party starts at 7pm. I do a CS meal around 5pm and pick where I want to be before the party starts. If you are into pictures you should choose what characters you want to see first and get in line before 7pm. I was in line about 6:15 ish to see the 7 Dwarfs. I think we were second in line.

If you don't mind not going to MK from 4-7:00, you can do it. The HDDR shows are close to 2 hours long and then it depends on getting the boat back to MK. (yes, take the boat. Going to Fort Wilderness - allow plenty of time to park at TTC, get to MK, and the boat trip. You want to be early, not late, to HDDR!)
You will probably get back to MK closer to 7:00, the official start time of MNSSHP.

We love HDDR and go every trip. If you don't go on the party night, try to go some other night.

I'd definitely recommend HDDR for two adults. Our DS enjoys it, but really we go for mommy and daddy. As others have said, taking the boat from MK is the best way to go.

Its a great show but I think you`ll be cutting it too close to get to party in that time frame.

Do you think two adults can go and enjoy themselves?

yes. The show is timeless. The food is of high quality and as consistent as you will find anywhere on property. It is not a foodies paradise but the food is prepared well, tastes great and the meal is one of the best found anywhere at WDW.

If the question is HDDR, the answer is yes. Always yes.

We love HDDR and highly recommend it for 2 adults.
But I too would not go on a party night.
The dinner and show is about 2 hours long. Then you would have to take a boat back to MK. With everyone leaving at the same time it is possible you would not make the first boat.
And as the others have said, you can go to the MK as early as 4 PM with your party ticket. Lots of folks start lining up early for the popular, unique characters.
I definitely would go a different night though

I'll reiterate what others have said. HDDR is super fun, but I wouldn't do it on a party night. You will really miss out on the beginning of the party if you do it. If no other TS interests you at MK, I would consider doing a late lunch somewhere and just doing snacks and QS at MK in the evening during the party.

I am planning to do HDDMR for my upcoming trip in October for the first time! Question though!! Does anybody know if you can pay the difference to have tier 1 seating when you're on the Dining Plan?

My husband and I have been married for 35 years so a bit older than the OP but Hoop De Do is a favorite for us. Oh, and when my father turned 70, we took him and my stepmother (12 years his junior) to it. So four older adults and while my father's physical condition was winding down, he laughed so hard, he started to cry from everything and he had seen it many times before. So yes, it's great for just two adults, trust me.

Thanks guys! So, as much as I love the party, I've already met Jack and Sally in Disneyland at their party last year so I don't feel the need to do that again. As for the rest of the characters, I'm not one to really stand in a character line for more than 15 minutes (I know I am an oddball). That's why I'm considering going before the party. We are also on the DxDP so I gotta use those credits and there isn't another night that I have open.

It's really good to know that its a hoot for adults! I'm still so freaking torn. I still have the BOG 5:05 ressie that I made just in case so I can eat during the party. Man, oh, man is this the HARDEST decision I've had to make all week!!!

I wouldn't do the show on a party night. Missing time in the park during the party takes away from the price to experience value for me. I go to MNSSHP to ride ride ride, and the potential of missing the 'official' 6 pm opening (when lines to rides drop dramatically as day guests leave and party guests start getting seats for the first parade) would make it a no go for me. I'd make an earlier ADR at a monorail venue on a party night instead.

I agree with posters, too close on a party night but such a fun dinner. DH and I went on our honeymoon and loved it!
Maybe a dinner in a monorail hotel would be fun? We did Narcossee's for our last anniversary and it was lovely!

To clarify and avoid misunderstandings: The "Official 6 pm opening" is actually 7 PM. Folks are allowed in with party tickets starting at 4 PM, but the party officially begins at 7 PM

Hoop Dee Doo is a wonderful night out for two adults. The food is excellent, and the entertainment is super fun. Well worth the money, even at Disney pricing.

The Halloween Party is also fantastically fun. My husband and I have gone 4 times in 2 years, never with kids, and had a blast. It is equally a great time to Hoop Dee Doo and well worth the money, too.

That said, you would be doing a big injustice to both excellent events by combining them both into the same night. Either schedule both but on different nights, or pick which one appeals most to you and take a pass on the other.

If you pick the Halloween Party, what about adding on the Hallowishes Dessert Party? Not only will that get you reserved parade viewing at the flag pole in Town Square and a special spot to watch the fireworks from Tomorrowland Terrace, but you also get a wonderful dessert buffet (which also includes fresh fruits, cheeses, crackers, and beverages) which would more than round out a quick service meal in the park.

If you go with Hoop Dee Doo, add on a private carriage ride (currently $45...and that price is per carriage, not per person). Your horse and driver will take you through the campgrounds to see all the Halloween decorations on display throughout the Fort. It definitely has a romantic feel for a honeymoon trip. Or, for $8 each, you could go on a wagon ride (not private....other guests will also be on board the wagon). You could easily round out a full night at Fort Wilderness with the dinner show, a carriage or wagon ride, and even the Electric Light Parade or Chip & Dale's campfire sing-along if you plan your timing right.

First of all Congrats! My husband and I went on our Honeymoon in Aug 2016 and yes! do HDDR!!! We go every year but it was especially special on our Honeymoon because they have performers go all around and ask if you are celebrating an anniversary Honeymoon etc and then you get up and dance at your seat to a beautiful song they perform
We loved it

DO IT!! And tell them you're on your HM and maybe they will put you up front and really tease your new hubby! We never get to MNSSHP until 7+ after everyone without a ticket is gone. If the boat is crazy, you can take the one to the contemporary and then take the monorail to MK.

But the seatings are done when the ADR is made. They do have a moment when people are asked if they are celebrating something and that's when the OP can say they are on their honeymoon. And, trust me, they will get attention for that.
