SO what is every ones opinions about the Hoop De Do Review lately, We have not been in 10 years, We have always loved it before, our 8yrDD has not been to it yet and we are thinking that it may be fun for her now, we skipped it 2 years ago because of her age.

Would you use 2 dinner credits apiece for it?

Thanks

Dave Goofydad Dionne

We were there the Sunday the week before Easter [See how not to treat a person in an ECV for the entire trip, trip report board]. 1st time for our DD's 9 & 8 and they loved it. Dw and I did it on our honeymoon back in 90 just as good as we remembered it to be. we were also on the food plan. You can only eat so many big dinners till they start to weigh you down. The kids are only young once.DW and I say Go for it. Have a great time. and Good luck.

NOTHING has changed about this show in all the years I've been there. My first trip was in the 70s when I was 12. I went to HDDR then and had a great time. My next trip was in the 90s when DD was about 4. We all LOVED it. When back two years later and again loved it. Went again, and LOVED it. We missed it this past year because I thought the teens in my group might be too "cool" for it, but they were mad that I didn't schedule it. The show has not changed a bit and I believe the food is still the same. Each time I've been the food has been the same (well, I can't really remember the 70s) and the quality (or mediocrity I should say) has been the same as well. Disney found a good formula with this show and they are wise not to mess with it.

Did it last summer with niece and nephew, they were 7, and we all really enjoyed it.

I'm not at all into "country" stuff but I still found it entertaining and worth the expense (we paid for it, didn't have any dining plan). An excerpt from my trip report from May 2005:

We must have been the very first reservation, as we were table 011, all the way against the stage in the front left corner. Not my favorite seat in a theater, but then again this isn’t exactly New York or Toronto.

Ben (my 5 year old) said he was bored with the idea of the show before it started, but he liked the kids’ macaroni and cheese and the corn, as did Mollie (my 2.5 year old). The salad was really good and fresh. I know it sounds dumb, but for months I’d been looking forward to the all-you-can-eat ribs. I LOVE ribs. They arrived in a bucket just as advertised, but I couldn’t eat more than one bite. To me, ribs are good when they’re tender and they melt off the bone. These ribs were very tough and were Krazy Glued to the bone, like they were cooked in 10 minutes rather than hours and hours. Very, very disappointing. The fried chicken was moist and prepared perfectly, but I don’t love fried chicken, we’re just friends.

The show was hokey and overacted and pure fun. Ben really got into it, and especially enjoyed the slapstick, physical comedy. The one thing I was very surprised by was the sexual innuendo. I’m very far from being any kind of a prude (I’ve been an unabashed Howard Stern listener for 20 years), but a WDW show was the last place I expected to see this kind of content.

The highlight of the day to me was after our dinner dishes were cleared, when the stage curtain opened to reveal all of the food servers on stage with trays full of strawberry shortcake in bowls. Ben got all excited and yelled to me, “Look, Daddy, dessert live on stage!”

GO FOR IT!

My hubby and I did it last July and it was the first meal he had ever eaten at Disney and he decided that from now on every trip should start with that the first night. :) I can't wait to go back!

We go on each trip to WDW.Love the show and wonderful songs and slap stick skits. The food is good and we always have enjoyed it.Was chosen once to be in show. I was Davey's angel and it was a hoot and DW still gets a laugh out of it. :goodvibes :wizard:

We love this show! I like to do it on our first night at WDW. We check in to our resort, hang out and relax, then head to the show. Perfect way to start our vacation.

Thanks everybody I guess we will do it this time. We really did miss it the last time we went and did not go.

Thanks again
