Hoop Dee Doo not available at 180?

Hi all.

Newbie here, be gentle.

This morning was my T minus 180 day and I made it through the complexity of ADRs mostly unscathed.

One question I had though is this.

For the Hoop Dee Doo Revue, I was not able to book online. When I followed up with a call, I was told the August dates "were not loaded yet".

I was under the assumption that everything was available 180 days out, but maybe I missed something in my planning related to Hoop Dee Doo.

So does that sound like it's possible or did I get some potentially bad information?

I booked our Hoop de Doo 9.45 reservation back in november at 180+10 no problem. I know they've been trailing some new times, don't know if that got anything to do with it
Maybe call back again and dig a little deeper. Good luck

Yes, this happened to me too! Hoop De Doo was unavailable for all 3 shows on the day I wanted even being on my 180 +10 days. I couldn't believe every ressie was taken but the CM said there was no availibity & suggested I try back in a few days. The CM didn't know what the problem was.

On a side note, I got every other ADR I wanted taking advantage of the 180 day mark Hopefully I won't have to change anything....

After replying to your post, I decided to call WDW back to do a little more digging now that I've happily booked everything else I wanted

The CM recalled a guest last week trying to book HDD and availability then was through the middle of July 2012.

CM did some digging & reported Hoop De Doo is not yet "loaded" in their system for the entire month of AUG 2012 yet. She found dates up to AUG 4, 2012 are available for booking. If you are at your 180 mark today, then your date will surely be there in a few days, perhaps a week would be my best guess considering just last week they were only through the middle of July. So the good news is that it's not all booked, just not available to book quite yet

On a side note I also asked the prices for the different catagories including tax & tip are:
CAT1 $67.07
CAT2 $62.99
CAT3 $58.99

I also learned, contrary to what I thought, that seating assignments are not based upon WHEN you make your reservation but based upon WHEN you pick up your tickets. You may p/u tickets up to 7 days in advance of your ADR so if you get them 7 days out you will get a better seat assignment than waiting until the day before to pick up your tickets.

Thank you for posting this. Now I have to plan to get to wilderness lodge some time during our stay I do want to have a good table and am planing on getting a cat 1 ADR. I'm also going to meet up with some friends there I guess I could pick up their tickets (they will be on the same ADR as us) and leave the tickets for them at the front desk of the resort they are staying at.

I just checked out allears.net and it stated..."Tables are assigned when making your reservation, so the earlier you call, the better your table."

They also posted..."For those of you staying at a Walt Disney World resort, tickets can also be picked up at your hotel’s concierge desk." At least that will save me making a special trip out to FW.

You should double check this but I think the CM said tickets could be picked up anywhere at WDW, not just your home resort or even a resort....maybe guest services in the the parks. You may have issues picking up tickets that are not in your name, however, since these are prepaid by a credit card, even if the same ADR if not the same credit card name. In both cases I would check that upfront.

It's been known to get info from one CM that sometimes differs from another. But what I go away with is that I will plan to p/u my HHD tickets as soon as I am at WDW rather than waiting until the day before or day of of. I used to think, oh, I'll wait to get 'em so I don't lose them, not realizing each day was placing our party farther away from a possibly optimal spot thinking the seats were dividied out by date purchased.

Don't be alarmed next Tues. when you call on your 180 mark if they say it's not available for booking. This morning they could only book to 8/4 which is probably close to 180 days from now, so if you were checking in 8/4 but wanted to book, say 8/14, at least this morning you couldn't. It will take probably another week to book through the middle of August is my best guess from what the CM said in my earlier post.

I'm sure this far out you won't have any trouble getting your beloved HHD tixs

Yes, that's what I always thought too! It is confusing but having a CM tell me this, my thoughts are getting a ressie early PLUS p/u tickets early might = nice seat!

I have not been told this but it's quite possible as I had the same issue with booking Cape May Cafe dates for the month of July...initially the CMs were saying that the dates "hadn't been loaded yet" but sure enough a couple of weeks later, the word of the refurbishment came.

Yup, was just told the same thing. That explains it. Major bummer. Oh well, gotta find a backup plan quick!

Had not seen this before calling but when I called this week to book HDD for August, was told the same thing. Boo Hoo

We really dove into this with the reservations line. They made multiple phone calls to figure out what was going on. We were told it is not a refurbishment of the restaurant but a refurbishment of how they do seating. They are playing around with seating to accomodate more guests per show. They were also working on possible alternate times.

The rep we talked to said the August 2012 dates we're looking at will definitely have shows but they are not loaded into the system yet. She said to keep checking back.

We'll just keep hoping...

Well, I just tried to make my ADR for Aug 28 and still only able to book up until Aug 4. That must be some major refurbishing they are planing if they will be closed from (so far) Aug 5-Aug 29.

Maybe, they just won't take any ADRs until they know for sure what the seating plan will look like. I'll call today and hopefully I will get some better accurate information.

Yeah, we weren't able to either. So I temporarily decided against HDDR, and will use my TS credits elsewhere.

Are you also aware that Star Wars Celebration VI is going on in Orlando that same week.
