We are wanting to make a reservation for Hoop Dee Doo. There are 5 of us going, but one of the 5 does not like meat on the bone. Seeing that they serve ribs and chicken on the bone, is there any alternatives for picky people? I don't want to make the reservation and spend that kind of money & the find out that there are no alternatives.

It's a set menu served family style, so there are not a ton of alternatives for the picky. They do alterations as needed for allergies, etc., but that's about it. Can't the picky person in your party just cut the meat off the bone?

My ddil won't eat meat on the bone, so I always take the bones off for her before she takes it. I can do it so nobody really notices it and she will eat it.

I don't think they provide alternatives to their meat on the bone menu. Like powellrj said, perhaps someone from your table would be kind enough to debone the meat for the picky eater.

I did see them serve a table near us macaroni and cheese. Not sure if this was for an allergy or what, but it did show they offer another option.

It seems like everyone on your family are adults and teens. At that age, can't the picky person debone their own meat before eating it? I'm happy to cut up my Grandson's meat. My daughter is old enough to do it for herself. Or go hungry.

We were there last month and they have a peanut butter sandwich or macaroni and cheese options available for kids if they don't like the menu.

My husband and I have been married for 34 years. He likes his meat off the bones, I like mine on the bone. His favorite meal of mine that I cook at home? Very simple - boned chicken breasts in a crockpot with a can of soup and cooked all day. No, he does not like bones but I just simply debone the meal before serving.

If the person in the party cannot stand the sight of anyone's meal on the bone, then Hoop Dee Do would not be a good choice for that one person. If they just can't eat the meal on the bone, there are knives and forks on the table and either that person can debone the meat themselves or someone else can do it for them. There will be a LOT of people cutting into the meat that way.

What is the age of the person who doesn't like the meat on the bone? I grabbed a chicken breast out of the bucket, pulled the meat off and split it with my 2 year old.
