I have a reservation for Hoop Dee Doo for our trip in May. We're staying at the WL so it isn't far away. But is it worth 2 TS credits?(we're on the dining plan). I'm starting to rethink it and wondering if I should cancel and book 2 separate TS restaurants. What are your thoughts? I have 2 kids...ages 11 and 6. Is the food and entertainment worth it?

Thanks!

For us, it depended on where else we were eating. We usually do Sci-Fi for lunch, so rather than use a TS on that, we use that TS with another for HDDR. We also have the DDE, so we get a discount. If we don't do Sci-Fi and do other more expensive meals for dinner, we pay OOP for HDDR. HTH somewhat! :thumbsup2

We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the entertainment provided at the Hoop Dee Doo Review. The food is served family style, meaning they bring everything to your table and replinish it as needed. The menu consists of fried chicken (the best in WDW in our opinion), bbq ribs, baked beans, corn on the cob, salad, rolls and strawberry shortcake.

The entertainers tell super corny jokes and sing silly songs but everybody in our party really enjoyed it.

I think you might benefit by going to www.allearsnet.com. Click on Dining. Scroll down to menus. The Hoop Dee Doo Review menu is there and you will also find detailed information.

Have a great trip and eat some good food! Lisa

We stayed at VWL in Jan. and did HDDR for the first time ever. We used 2 TS credits for it. I couldn't fathom paying OOP for our family of 5, even with the oldest still sliding in at the children's price. I thought the show was cute, but not something I would want to do on every trip. In fact, I probably wouldn't even consider it for another 5 years or so. By comparison, we did the Dixie Stampede in Tenn. last fall. It was around $100 for all us, if we would have paid OOP for HDDR in was over $200. My kids enjoyed Dixie Stampede much more than HDDR. We ended up having plenty of credits for the week even using those for HDDR, so I guess that I am glad that we got to experience it once. Not sure if this helped at all, but that was our experience.

IMO, yes!

The show is a lot of fun, so long as you know you're going for a lively musical revue full of corny jokes and bad puns. If you go expecting an exciting "Wild West" show, you'll be disappointed.

It's best to go to the Hoop Dee Doo while hungry ... the food is good and filling and there's as much as you could possibly want or eat (same with the sangria and beer)!

HDDR was the one thing I regret doing during our vacation. Usually I like that kind of thing and maybe I would have if not for using 2 TS. We were disappointed. I will say that my viewpoint might also come from the fact that I got violently ill that evening (our last night) and my daughter got ill the next day also. It did not make for a fun return trip home. My 2 cents is use your TS elsewhere.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We just returned in March and we did HDDR for the first time. I was concerned to about using 2 credits but I had heard such good things about the show that I had to check it out. (it is like CRT, you have to do it at least once) We went and we had a ball my kids are 5,7,10. They all loved it and we were seated at the very back on the main floor. We could see everything and the show moves all over the main floor as well as the stage. My oldest son was choosen by Dolly and was taken on stage and was a actor in the show they perform at the end. They allowed me to move closer and I took pictures like crazy. It is corny but it is fun and you won't regret it. As someone here wrote if you like Mighty Phython you will like this show.:woohoo: :woohoo: We are going again next year, that is how much my kids liked it.

I say yes to it to, we just went in Febuary and I have been calling every day to go again when we go in August and just finally got in tonight :cool1:

It's my son's absolute favorite resturant and he loves the chicken and cornbread :thumbsup2

So, now I will just pay oop for one of the dinners, I just need to decide if it will be Mama Melrose or WCC!!

Whatever you decide , have a great trip!

I've been weary about this reservation from the get go, but I guess if I have an open mind (and a few "wobbly-pops") it might be a hoot.

Thanks!
