I need to reserve a table for Hoop Dee Doo. We have one person who may or may not be joining us. Our party will be either 7 or 8 people. Am I okay to reserve for 8 and then call to get a refund on the 8th person if he can't make it? I'm afraid if I make reservation for 7 we will have to cancel that table and make a new reservation for 8, which would reset us in the queue for a good seat.

Anyone know if it's okay to cancel a person, and if refund will work? Does it have to be 45 days out on something like that??

Always make your reservations for the maximum number of people (including infants) who will be at the table. Everybody counts. It is always easier to reduce the number than it is to try and add people later on.

For pre-paid reservations you can call and have the money refunded for the person who isn't going to come, but be very certain the CM understands you want to modify the reservation. Some CMs find it easier to cancel a res and try to book a new one, but in that short time someone else might pick up the res and then you'll be out of luck. If you can wait, it's easier to get the refund when you pick up your tickets.

If you want to completely cancel the reservation, the deadline will be on the confirmation paperwork. It's either one or two days in advance.
