I have seen many raves about it but is there anyone who didnt like this show or think it wasnt worth two TS.

I watched a few things on You Tube and not sure if i liked what i saw. I mean it was ok but am I missing something??
Maybe it was the cast that was in the videos that didnt appeal to me????

Sorry to let you down, but we love it. It is a must do for us every trip.:thumbsup2 The kids just belly laugh and eat like crazy.:rotfl2:

Another vote for we loved it... and we don't even have any kids. :)

We LOVE HDDR!! It is very basic Vaudeville slap-stick humor in a frontier setting, with down-home cooking (fried chicken BBQ ribs). Basic, simple, plain, and my family's hands-down favorite dining experience in the world.

But it really doesn't appeal to everyone, and a handful of people will be totally mystified by what the heck the fuss is all about. On our last trip to HDDR, there was a family behind us with a 2-ish year old who was watching a portable DVD player with Sponge Bob cartoons LOUDLY!!! It was very annoying and distracting, and my husband politely asked them to turn down the volume. They didn't, but about 15 minutes later, we noticed that the sound had stopped. We turned around to find that the family had left in the middle of the show. It definitely was NOT for them.

It does depend somewhat on the cast on a given night. There is a very flexible script, and the cast does involve and respond to the audience to some extent, so being there can be different from watching a video. I'd say do another search and try to find a few more videos, but if you still don't seem to "get it," you might want to save your $$ or credits and just skip it. It is a lot of $$ to blow on one night!

We've gone every trip since our first trip and I honestly could take it or leave it and have felt that way even after the first time (the people I go with love it though). The food's ok, IMO (I'm not a big fan of eating meat off of the bone and everything else is just ok) but the show is cute and entertaining (with a few moments that are funny).

I liked it, I just wish I had asked for a vegetarian option for the entree because I don't really like meat.
I didn't leave hungry since the cornbread and strawberry shortcake were filling and yummy, but I'd have liked something else to go with them. It was completely my fault though for not speaking up.

I enjoyed the show and the food, had a great time and a great meal. But it's not a must do on our upcoming vacation. It was fun, but pretty much I have the "been there done that" mentality on it.

It was a great meal and the entertainment was good BUT
Very crowded on the 1st floor, paid top dollar and had large party so seats were crowded. Would go back and sit on balcony. Enough attention to all in the room even 'upstairs'.

The wait was long outside, have something for the kids.

We've been twice, (opted to give it a second chance!) and although we enjoyed the show, it's definitely not on our list of top priorities for the next trip. To us, it doesn't feel up to the normal Disney standard; instead, it seemed like the type of show that you could see at most any large amusement park.

Yes! I kept thinking it would be really fun at Dollywood, which could use a dinner show like this.

I agree. Every time I go it reminds me of the Black Bear Jamboree in Pigeon Forge, TN.

Show is very cute and entertaining. Food is fair to poor.

We smiled during the show a few times, but not one person in our family loved it. I am glad we tried it once as we would have always wondered about it. I have decided we are not dinner show people. The whole Vaudeville slap-stick thing is just lost on us...and a very expensive loss, too with our large family.

I've gone there 3 times and really like the ribs, chicken and all the beer you can drink. The show is fun even though it's been the same for every trip we have gone. I would say you should try this at least once and judge for yourself. I would go back for my 4th time.

Everyone in my family loved it except me. I did love the meal, though. If my kids wern't enjoying it so much, I would have been bored. I watched my kids more than I watched the show and enjoyed their reactions soo much, we are going again in May 2011, at my kid's request!

my family loves it...I know you wanted to hear from those that don't love it...sorry. The food is pretty good (not incredible, but good) and the atmosphere and entertainment is just good clean family fun! It's expensive and is a splurge, but we try to fit it in every other trip. We all have a great time there! I think my Mom enjoys it the least, but my husband, teens and preteens just have such a fun time...it's worth it to see them laughing and having so much fun!!!

DW and I thought it was ok. We are glad we went to experience it but will not go back unless we have nothing else to do. Food was ok and the entertainment was ok but nothing stood out as fantastic.

We are family of six and no one liked it. We didn't like the food or the show. It was definetly not worth two table services. Even the boat ride(in the rain) was no fun. But like someone else said you may want to try it once to see for yourself.

thanks this is kind of what i wanted to hear. Also the comment about Pigeon Forge & Dollywood, that is exactly what i was thinking when i saw the videos.
I guess if i am in the mood for fried chicken & ribs i will just make a ressie at Trails End which we did last year and only takes 1 table credit
