I know there are levels 1,2 and 3(balcony) Is any level better than another? Our girls will be 8 and 10 when we go. DH and i saw it years ago, but it will be the girls' first time We are on the DP, which I think only covers levels 2 and 3, is that right? So if we want level 1 it is OOP.

You can get Category 1 on the dining plan at the 9:30 pm show. Otherwise, with the dining plan you can book only Category 2 or 3.

The main difference is obviously the price, but we don't see much difference in them. We generally do category 3, simply because your view isn't obstructed, and well, it's a little cheaper! The cast goes through the balcony just as much as they do the house when picking on people, and I like the view better, but that's just my opinion. There probably isn't a bad seat in the house, so it all depends on your budget and how close you want to be to the stage.

We've done cat 2 and 3 and were fine both times. The show is just as funny no matter where you sit, and the actors do a great job of mingling throughout the entire audience.

We have done all the levels and I actually like level 2 best. In Level one you are really close to the stage and I felt like I had to look up at too high an angle when the cast was on stage. For the portions of the show out in the audience, Category 1 was great.

If you are level 2 you are either further out on the ground floor or in the back of the upper level. Great view the entire show without the neck strain.

In level three you are off side on the top, and I did not enjoy that view as much, but it was still a good view, just not great.

HOOP-DEE-DO-REVIEW SEATING INFO:

1) HDDR tables are assigned in category by the date of the ressie.
2) They are manually assigned on 7th day before the show date.
3) Last minute ressies are assigned to the next open table in order.
4) There are usually no requests allowed for tables.
5) Earlier ressies get the better tables.
6) Exceptions are #044 & #045, kept for last minute handicapped guests.
7) Table numbers have meaning,
. . . EXAMPLE: table #052
. . . 0 = floor-level
. . . 5 = fifth-row-from-front
. . . 2 = second-table-from-left
8) Tables are moved around to accommodate number of guests per that table.
9) Only one family/group is seated per table.

. . . Cat-1 tables are main floor from stage thru row-8
. . . Cat-2 tables are the seven tables in row-9 on main floor
. . . Cat-2 tables include the six rear balcony tables facing stage
. . . Cat-2 tables also include the 9th table on each balcony side

. . . Cat-2 and Cat-3 tables may have posts in the way

Last year I booked 2 Cat 1 seats for me and DS13 at exactly 6am on the day my ADR window opened (DH made fun of me...he's not a DISer) - we were pleasantly surprised to get the front row seats right in front of the stage! It really made my son's entire vacation (the girls on stage flirted madly with him)

I'm afraid I wasn't quite as on the ball for this year's trip - but it's a hoot all the same. If you're going to splurge I say splurge for your 1st time on Cat 1 seats, IMHO they were the best and you really got close to the action (although the actors DO move around and involve the whole crowd)

we had cat 3 on the ddp during our trip in Jan 2009 with our then 18 month old son and loved it. We actually prefer being upstairs. Looking forward to our res this summer with our 2 boys. Cat 3, ddp.
