We have never attended the show in prior trips but looking to add in some new things to do. I haven't booked in the past just because we not "singing and dancing" kind of people. But I hear so many good things about the show including the food.

So do we hoop dee or no???

Anyone not the singing and dancing type that still really enjoyed it?

I'm sort of with you on the singing and dancing, but I thought HDDR was fun. It is silly, slapstick style comedy, family entertainment. Classic Disney.

And the food is pretty good!

We just love this show. the first time we went was about 25 years , i can't believe its been running for 40 years! went on our first night oct 26 and it was as fun as ever. dd and i went along with her friend who had never been. she loved the show and the food was great (as always) i think i can eat the bread and butter only its so good!

We're not the Hee Haw singing and dancing types either, BUT this show is just great. Over the years we've been to HDDR 3 times, and will probably go again. Lots of jokes and good entertainment for all ages. Last year I talked to a couple who took their teen DD and her friend. They had long faces and pouts going in, but half way through the entertainment the fussy teens were smiling and laughing. The food is sooo good and the way they serve it is fun.

I had only ever heard raving positive reviews for HDD, so we booked it for our trip last week. The food was great! The show was "eh." And our seats (up in the balcony area) made it impossible for the kids to see, and awkward for the adults as well. We ended up leaving before dessert we were so unimpressed. We won't be going back. (The ribs we had the next day at Flame Tree were fantastic as well. Next time we'll use a QS credit there instead of two TS credits on HDD. Not worth it for us.)

Been twice, and it has been great both times. We were in #1 seating the first time and #2 this time. Our first table was just off the stage, this week's table was on the floor, very back and dead center of the entry doors. From anywhere on the floor you can see the show without difficulty. I haven't been on balcony seats before, but you can request the other two sections to avoid it.

It is the best dinner show Disney offers, and one of the best dinner shows I've seen in all my vacations to various places in the South. I did notice some of the songs were different this time than in 2012, so it added a new element for us. Granted, it is expensive, but worth it to me, especially if not seen before.

I don't do the dining plan, since most of the food at most of the restaurants is the same now adays since dining plan took away the uniqueness that different restaurants used to offer. Hoop is different, I haven't found this taste of rib, chicken, corn, or beans anywhere else on property.

Well worth it for a first timer, and if you don't agree, just match your next vacation up with mine and I'll cook ya dinner to make up for it. ;)

Think I sat at the same table, or at least the one next to it, a few weeks ago. Great that it was a high top so you could see over everybody in front of you. Our waiter even told us to sit our 5yo DD at the front of the table so she had a better view. As much as my DW and I liked it, I think our DD liked it even more.

DW and I, like many I'm sure, kind of got the idea it just a corny dinner show..............and it was but.....we really, really enjoyed it !!!! The food was typical for Trails End which is quite good but the entertainment was outstanding. Our only regret was that we hadn't done it sooner. It is now on our "to do" Disney list. Go for it !!!

HDDR has always been an entertaining dinner show to me. But not everyone may agree, I have always opted for the #1 seating over #2 and that could influence it. It is not an every year event, but we enjoy going to see the show every couple of visits.

Trails End is our favorite place to eat. We typically cook breakfast at our campsite with a quick serve lunch or snack at the park and either Trails End dine in or take out for dinner.

We did one character meal last trip and it was ok but we felt so rushed. I hate to feel rushed. I don't feel like the kids get near the same amount of time with the characters as they would at a meet in greet. I have yet to book a character meal for this trip. Plus, if I'm going to spend that kind of money on a meal I want to eat and eat like it's going out of style. You can't do that with a character meal. We LOVE TE food and the food is the same right???

Plus, I plan to drink at that show and I'm not a drinker so this "possible corny show" could possibly turn into the funniest thing ever.

Thank you everyone for your recommendations!!!

We don't do the dining plan either. I think we averaged around $80 food spending a day on our last trip for the four of us ( I budgeted for twice that ). That includes 3 eat in Trails End dinners. To go is just as good and you can't go wrong with the price. This will be a splurge meal and our only one too.

We cook a lot while at Disney. I know most would think that's silly cause your on vacation but I would much rather cook a few more meals and have the ability to stay longer.

Glad to know we can't go wrong with floor seating and if your wrong we like steak ;)

We've been about 7 times. My mom LOVES it, my dad thinks it's alright, my husband doesn't need to go back again, my brothers in their 20s couldn't care less about the show but they like the food, my nephew we took when he was 5 got bored half through and tired (our fault we did the late seating), and I'm late 20s and think it's enjoyable. Personally feel it's overpriced, and I don't eat enough food to justify the cost. The show is fun and there's just enough singing and dancing without being too much. A few ballads in the middle they could probably get rid of to shorten it up a little bit but they keep the food coming so you are occupied.

Send me a PM if you go and let me know how it was. I don't anticipate having to cook you a steak, but if we are there at the same time, I'll feed ya anyway.

We loved the HDDR! Show was great and so was the food. We didn't do it on our last trip and we regretted it.
