Due to our flight schedule and park plans we need to do a 2TS meal one day of our trip and have already booked the HDDR for the 5:00PM show on one our of our non-park days.

We've never done it and thought it looked fun ... plus it seemed like an better option than bringing the baby to a 2TS signature restaurant. We've done the Spirit of Aloha Luau and wanted to try something new. We considered Mickey's Backyard BBQ, but it didn't seem like it would be worth 2TS compared to HDDR or SofA.

Has anyone experienced HDDR with a toddler? (He'll be 14 months at the time.) He is used to eating at restaurants/sitting down for family meals.

Obviously, he won't get much out of the show, but he does enjoy people acting silly and singing ...

Is it very loud?
If one of us needed to step outside if the baby needed a break from the action, is it easy to do without disturbing other diners? We've got (Cat. 2 seating.)

I went w/ my boy when he was 18 months old and he really enjoyed it. It wasnt too noisy but it was a bit corny. They had highchairs and we just made sure that they put us closer to the exit in case one of us had to up with him.

Thanks moredisney ... that's the kind of info I was hoping to hear! (Corny works for our family, so that should make us all happy.)

Any other opinions/experiences?

Don't worry, be happy ! We've taken children to the HDDR, including twin 10 mo. olds (slept through the entire 5pm show due to an earlier than usual nap, due to the excitement in the parks), and triplet 16 mo. olds (one slept, the others clapped, ate and babbled throughout the entire thing). (Can you tell that multiples run in my family, lol ?).

Congrats on teaching them at a young age about proper behaviors - we did the same, and it definitely pays off in the end. You'll be fine at the HDDR - if you need to step outside, its quite easy to accomplish, since the tables are easily negotiated and you are rarely in anyone's line of sight for more than a second or two. The restrooms are located downstairs and outside, so you will see more than a few people heading that way during the show. The entire production is quite boisterous and fast paced; your child will enjoy the energy. If he is unhappy with loud or grating noises however, you may want to plan on stepping outside towards the end, as they bring out a washboard and spoons for the audience to "play".

Enjoy ! ! !

Thanks for the tip ... he likes to shake morraccas and such ... but an entire roomful might be a bit much ... at least now we will be prepared to bolt if need be ... or at least have his airplane earplugs handy! (This is his second disney trip - we went in December and the only thing that bugged him was the fireworks noise ... once we held our hands over his ears to muffle the sound, he was good to go.)

Hey neighbor!

Your post made me feel like my upcoming trip with my baby, who will be 16 months old when we travel, and my two older kids (at 4 and 6, they will be easy) will be ok! If you can navigate it with twins and triplets, I shouldn't be worried! :)

my DD was only 14 months old when we took her to HDD, 14 years ago!! She loved the noise and loved sucking on the BBQ Ribs and coudln't get her to stop and had BBQ all over her face!! :rotfl: We had a blast!! It was an memorable event to watched her and the show as well!!

ENJOY!!!:goodvibes

The bathrooms are out of the main building so taking your child out for a break isn't going to be that big of a deal. I think they do ask that you stay seated as much as possible because the show goes on all around you. But no one is going to make an upset child stay!

My grandson is 18 months and if he would sit still long enough, I think he would love Hoop Dee Do.

We brought our DD when she was 12 months old and she LOVED it! Wasn't too noisy for her. She really liked all of the singing, dancing and the food. FW has a playground, which is located near the HDDR building. We let our DD play here before the show.

Thanks ... I'm just the (very devoted) aunt. I must say though that his parents are doing a good job so far! :)

I cannot answer your question but thank you for being unselfish :thumbsup2

Thanks ... if he starts fussing at something like a parade or dinner show, he's obviously either overstimulated or scared ... either way, it's time for a change of scenery! No use keeping him in the same place and causing others to become grumpy too! :)
