Last night dh and I talked about maybe booking Hoop de Doo for our trip in sept/oct. It sounds like it would be great fun but my one concern is that we will have ours boys with us. My oldest will be a little over 3 1/2 and then my unborn will be 6 weeks (if we have the Aug 20 induction). So how would they do in a place like that? Would it be too long? Too much to try and do?

Also, anyone who has been, do you highly recommend it? We have not heard a whole lot about it and it seems really good. :)

Thanks for any advice.

I've been a couple of times and really enjoyed the show. The food is pretty good - not great, but good.

The second time we went DS was 3 1/2 and he slept through the entire show. Still had to pay for him even though he didn't eat a bite and fell asleep about five minutes after we got there. Not complaining though. Our server was great and pulled two chairs together for him to sleep on. Think she brought a table cloth to cover him.

Anyway, he would have enjoyed it if he could have stayed awake. At six weeks, mine pretty much slept all the time, so wouldn't have made a difference one way or the other. Headed there in June with my best friend and her four boys. The youngest will be about three months, so it's doable.

I think it just depends on you and your kids. It is a fun, but expensive evening. If you go regularly, you might want to wait until they are a bit older, but if your not headed back for a while, then give it a try.

Have a great time on your trip and best of luck with your new baby.

IMHO, I think you would really enjoy HD :thumbsup2 We have been many times and my inlaws have made dinner at HD a family tradition. My sister-inlaw and myself have both gone when our children were small, can't rember the exact ages, but babies for sure, and in 03, our youngest were 2 and we still TOTALLY ENJOYED IT! (it can be loud at times, so if your children are sensitive to noise you might rethink it, but if they're not, you'll be glad you went)
The story is about Davey Crocket and the cast is wonderful! :cheer2: it is fast moving, and always changing.
They pull from the audience and that it really makes for a fun time! :goodvibes We have a favorite waiter, and always request him. (seems like everytime we go someone from our family gets picked to be in the show,..good times! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:
As for the food, it is also great, and pleanty of it.
PLUS your 3yr old will LOVE  the ending, everyone gets a washboard and spoon and all get to play along w/ the music.
I suggest requesting a table in the center on the floor, you'll be right in the middle of it all. :teeth:

Our very first dinner at the Hoop was when our sons were 3 and 1. The three year old roared at things I didn't think he would understand! :rotfl:

But with a newborn, I think I would take the baby out for the very last part. It is very loud..... fun but very loud. If you ask your server, I'm sure they could give you a cue as when to leave...it would be a bit after dessert is served. But you'll know your baby best so just trust your instincts...but it is loud. :teeth:
