Looking at possibly going to Hoop De Do this trip . . .

Are the Category 1 seats (main floor) a lot better than the others, from the standpoint of performer interaction or whatnot? It's not a whole lot more money, but I like to know what I'm getting. Also, are there stairs to the balcony? (DW doesn't do stairs well after her surgery of a year and a half ago.)

Any comments on the show in general would be appreciated also.

Thanks in advance!

Here is a link to some information. I was pretty sure there is no elevator to the 2nd level and this information confirms that.

We have attended the show 5 times. Our seating has been next to the stage, in the middle of the room on the 1st floor and on the 2nd level. I have to say that next to the stage was great (it was on our first visit :goodvibes), but the middle of the room is pretty good too because you get a better view of everything going on. The cast does interact with those on the 2nd level, but IMHO not nearly as much as those on the first floor, although this may have changed since they started charging different prices for seating. In any case, the show is terrific and lots of fun.

We were there 3 weeks ago in Category 1 seats . We were front and center right at the stage. The cast interacted a lot with DH, which was really fun.
Many here will tell you that Cat 2 and Cat 3 are good seats as well. It is my personal opinion that Cat 1 are better seats. I too think there is more interaction with the audience.
We were delighted with the show. It is really well done, if you like slapstick and corny jokes. The Cast is very talented. We had been years ago, but enjoyed this time just as much.
We all thought the food was delicious. The corn bread was moist and tasty and the Fried Chicken was excellent.
We had a great time and I would do it again.
Have a Great Trip

I would say that you're going to get better character interaction on the floor. They make efforts to get some of the cast up on the balcony, but we got lucky enough to get a table right at the stage and the cast was very interactive. I am fairly sure that stairs are the only way to get to the balcony, however there might be an elevator hidden in there somewhere. That might be something that can be answered for you when you make your reservation.

We've been to the show several times, and I've sat in each of the categories. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Tier 3... you get a nice view of the stage and the same food as everyone else! But our experience in Tier 1 was enough to make us want to only sit there from now on! Even when the cast wasn't necessarily talking to us, they would make eye contact and smile or make faces. It just made it so much more fun! Here's a pic I took from my seat:

Whichever you choose.. you'll have a great time! :dance3:

Wow, that guys looks like Chris Penn.

It pays to be up front....they do interact well. The only negative thing with being right there is that it is hard to video tape because they are so close, you don't get to pan the stage and some things get missed. We have been there a ridiculous 10 times and we have always been fortunate enough to be close up, and have had many interactions with the cast. (never got to be the can-can girl :sad2:) My kids really love it. Have fun

Many thanks - we're going with the Category 1!
