We are having dinner there for the first time soon. Do they allow you to take home your leftover food? I know I won't be able to finish all of it and it would be such a waste to have it thrown out.

HDDR is an AYCTE restaurant. It's the same as buffets; they will not provide doggy bags.

They kindly allowed us to take the remainder of our shortcake home once, but I am doubtful they would the rest of the meal. Not only because of the AYCTE aspect, but just the sheer inconvenience of it, servers really have to hustle to clear tables during a brief lull in the show.

Thanks for the replies. Thats a shame, what a waste of food to throw it all out. I doubt we'll finish the first servings of the main course.

1) No.
2) It is an AYCTE.
3) People would order more, just to have excess to take home.
4) GREED would kill such a benefit.
5) If you don't eat it all, just leave it.

If my memory serves me right, they bring you an appropriate amount of food based on the number of people at your table. It's not an excessive amount of food.

1) The original delivery of food to the table is still a lot.
. . . for me, I can't get through just the first delivery
. . . so, I don't even think of ordering more
. . . food that is
. . . however, I do seem to run short (several times during the show) of Sangria and have to re-order
2) But, if they had doggie-bags, people would order more food during the show.
3) This, just so they could take some food away.

DH and I don't like fried chicken, so when we our server took our drink order we let her know and she didn't bring it. You could probably say not to fill the buckets too high, after all, you can always ask for more.

Take a large freezer bag in just in case. Save room for the dessert.
