Is it worth the money? We will be on the dinning plan and making our 8th christmas time visit in 8 years. Looking for something different.
Lets have the good and the bad

We were just at the Hoop Dee Doo Review on the 28th of May and LOVED it. We always start our Disney vacations with dinner at the Hoop Dee Doo Review. Our whole family including the children, DS (11) and DD (8) enjoy the show and food. Definately a must do! :)

I have done Hoop-Dee-Doo every trip since our first trip in 2000. (5 times)

I have been with only adults (Loved it)
3 Adults , 2 Teenagers (All Loved it)
2 Adults , and 9yo Son (Loved it)

The show is a little hokey and "Cheesy" which to me is part of the appeal. The only draw back might be is that the performers do at times draw attention to certain members of the audience. (The antics are all in good fun) If you are on the shy side, you might not enjoy the audience participation and interaction with the performers.

I and EVERYONE I have been with have all loved the food. The presentation is very unique and fun and it's all-you-can-eat with something to satisfy anyone's taste. (including picky eaters). The price is a little on the too-pricey side, and some would argue that it's the type of thing you would only want to do once which I would agree with unless you go with different people every trip such as me.

I HIGHLY reccommend it, and it has always been one of the highlights and most talked about moment in every trip.

As other posters said it something everyone should do once! It's alot of fun. Especially if your kids are at least 5 and will get the corny (but sweet) humor. Are you a DVC member? If so, you'll have the opportunity to travel to to WDW for years and can always catch it another time.

The good: the food, the entertainment, the food and the entertainment!!!!

The bad: they only offer the castmember discount at the 9:30 pm show!

:)

DH and I went to HDDR for the first time last month and LOVED it. :thumbsup2

We are considering doing it again on our next trip. (whenever that it)

I went for the first time on my honeymoon. Alas, the husband is gone, but the memories of a fun time remain. I've actually been one other time since then and am headed there again in two weeks. It's fun, but not something I'd want to do every trip. It is the first time for DD and the first one DS will remember - he slept throught the first.

I really like the fried chicken and the strawberry short cake :thumbsup2 . The rest of the food is ok. All you can drink beer and sangria help, though ;)

Definitely worth doing at least once. Have a great time.

I echo all others here and say we LOVE the show. We have been 5 times and loved it this last time just as much as the first time. We take the boat from the MK early and stop off at WL, one of our favorites and look around. We then hop back on the boat and continue the trip to Pioneer Hall where it is shown....smjj

Loved, Loved, Loved the food and the show. And that from a family with 3 super fussy young eaters! It was a highlight in a superb trip.

Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness camp ground...smjj

We haven't been in about 12 years but are going this Wednesday for my DD's 11th bday. We are hoping that its as good as we remember!!

I went for the first time in December. It was great!!! The kids and I just LOVED it. It was a very rainy day at MK, so it was nice to get indoors to warm up (lol) and stay dry. It was also a nice break from the parks.

I didn't think the food was all that great. But I'm not too impressed with any of the WDW food. The food is ok, not outstanding. And if you have any picky children in your family, the waitress will bring you something not on the menu.

You will laugh so hard, your sides will hurt. :rotfl2:

Done it 3 (or 4) times. Doing it again in 3 weeks.

Great fun. I love the food. Bread is awesome. Great service. Great atmosphere. It's pure Disney.

do you still get all of the beer and sangria that you want? :smooth:

We did HDDR in '04...dd, then almost 11, loved it so much she asked to have her 13th birthday there. So, back we go this coming Oct. The food is just okay imho. Dh hates it!! Of course he doesn't like ribs, thinks fried chicken is barely okay and doesn't drink. But he liked the salad and the bread!!!
The show is very funny. Very slapstick. We'll be on the dining plan when we return in Oct, but I'm paying OOP since I get the 20% off on the last show with my DDE card. I also don't think it's worth 2 TS credits.

We went this past January and had a blast! Me, dh, ds7 & dd5. Everyone really enjoyed the show. Yes it is cheesey, but that is what makes it so much fun!! My dd was a bit freaked out by the noise and pace of it, but she dealt with it and seemed to have fun. We were at a table right in front of the stage and next to the piano. I say go experience it at least once!!

We plan to try the Hoop De Doo Review for the first time next year. I think I couldn't justify it before because I was looking at it just in terms of dinner. But, we've decided that we need to give it a try since it gets such good reviews. My SIL is always telling us to try it.

This year our schedule is too full, but next year I'll make sure I plan for HDDR and La Nouba!
