Now I do realize there is a big difference and the experience will be very different but let me explain and then you tell me what you think.
Its my DD 12th birthday so I wanted it to be a nice place and special for her as well as the rest of us. DH, 3 other DD , my DS and myself.
Every else is 15 and older.
That was the plane. No one is taking part in any planning just me and my DD 19.

Now my parents decided to join us and now I am thinking maybe Hoop De Doo would be a better choice.
My reasoning is that we don't have to concern our selves about dress codes as Narcoossees has and the atmostphere would be more family friendly and fun at Hoop De Doo.
We have never been to either place so I have nothing to compare.
Any insight or thoughts would be so helpful.

Totally different experiences.

I would not worry about the dress code at Narcosee's, it is pretty relaxed. As long as you look nice it is not a problem. Folks dress the same at Hoop as they do at Narcosees.

If I had to pick between the two, I would def. pick Hoop Dee Doo. It is soooo much fun! We have a blast every time we go there and we've been going since 1990. I would not pass up an opportunity to go to the Hoop!

Really about the dress code? I was told no sneakers. The guys have to wear polo shirts or button down.
No flip flops either?

You can wear sneakers and flip flops, men can even wear T-shirts.

No swimwear, cut offs, and men's shirts must have sleeves (no tank tops for men), no T-shirts with offensive writing or graphics.

As long as what you wear is nice, you will be fine. Most folks do dress for dinner, both at Narcosee's and at Hoop Dee Doo.

We have eaten at both. Just DH & myself at Narcoossee's last year--parent's night out! It was romantic, but a bit stuffy. :rolleyes1

Sept. 19th was our first trip to Hoop & WE ALL LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!! I thought my DH would hate it, thinking it was "corny." But it was really funny & so much fun!

We surprised our kids with this trip & surprised my DD9, on her b-day, with breakfast at the castle. I only wish I'd known how much more she was going to love Hoop & I would've reversed the ressies. Hoop is now a DEFINITE for all future trips. And, we will probably never bother with Narcoossee's again.

If this helps--our AAA agent says her DD14 INSISTS that they do Hoop each & every trip. She says it's their one dining tradition that will never go away. :thumbsup2

For a 12 year old pick Hoop Dee Doo. They will love it. My teen went with my sisters family and he still talks about it 2 months later. He loved the joke, the fried chicken in a bucket, the dessert and it was all you can eat.

I've been to Narcooses as an adult only dinner and it was wonderful, however I believe would be boring to a 12 year old.

Hands down - Hoop Dee Doo Revue!

It's so much fun. You will laugh so hard, and the food is really good (and you can't say that about most dinner shows!)

Hoop-Dee Doo- With all the kids go for the fun place over the good food place. :hippie::cool1:

While I realize this is long overdue, I had to just take a minute incase anyone out there is wondering weather to do Hoop Dee Doo...............
Listen to the other posters on this one.
Thank you all so much. We had soooooooo much fun its crazy.:rotfl:
The food was good, the free beer was a surprising treat, and the entertainment was the best.
My kids are all older so I wasn't sure I made the right choice but omg did we have a good time.:grouphug:
I think it may be one of our favorite memories for that trip. We had many but this was def up there with the others.
Thanks again everyone, what a blast and a birthday my DD will surely never forget.:woohoo:

I saw the title and thought; wow, two very different experiences!

Glad you had a good time! We did!

How about for a 7 yr old daughter n 4 yr old don? Is it worth it? We don't have a car so husband is cncernrd it will eat up a lot of our touring time if we do eat off of the parks.

You could spend the day at MK and then take the ferry over to FW. The boat ride is about 10 mintes and its a fun ride. You get to see different views on your way there and who doesn't like a nice ride on a boat?
The show is so fun and witty. It really was a good time and the food was very good too.
They serve you salad family sytle meaning its on the table and you take whatever you want, they also had cornbread on the table as well.
Your glasses are old fashion jars which the kids will get a kick out of and the fired chicken, ribs, and home made potatos were really yummy.
Let us not forget that beer is incliuded in your cost, what else can I say? It was a hoot!!!:cool1:
My DD turned 12 and she thought it was great so yes I think your little ones will enjoy it.

A 4 and 7 year old might enjoy a character encounter more. The HDDR does take an evening away from the parks. If that is a problem depends on how many days you have to see the parks.

Been to both definately go to HDDR. You will have a great time here. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
