We are completing a Monorail Drink-a-Thon with a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness. Someone posted on my Monorail Drink-a-Thon post that there are buses after the later Hoop De Doo shows that take guests directly to their hotels (rather than to Downtown Disney or another park, and then to resorts). Does anyone know anything about this?

1. Can anyone at Fort Wilderness take the buses (or do I have to attend Hoop de Doo)?
2. Are they offered year round?
3. Where do we pick them up?
4. Which Hoop De Doo shows offer these special buses?

Thanks for any information!!!

The buses generally run after the last show, which I believe is at 8:30. As far as I know this is done all year round. The buses were lined up after we exited the show and the CMs showed us which bus to take. The buses each go to more than 1 resort, so it might take a bit longer than leaving from a park. I don't see why they would limit the buses to Hoop dee doo customers.
I prefer to go to FW on nights when the MK is open late and then take the boat over to the MK and then the bus back to my resort.

I've taken those buses before. If MK is still open, it's going to be much quicker heading there vs HDDR buses. But, if MK is closed, then yes, you can use those HDDR buses. BUT...they run only after the last show, and make multiple stops...sometimes 5+!!

The buses were there on the 17th when we got out of the late show. I'm pretty sure we were there about 2 hours, so the show let out around 10:30. I can't remember the exact time, though. You would need to make sure that you were in the area when the show let out.
There were CM's outside directing people to the bus pick-up/ drop-off area and then there were CM's by the buses pointing you to the right bus. They weren't checking to see if you'd been at the show, so I don't see why you couldn't use the buses.
We had a car with us, so we didn't use the resort buses, just the one back to the Settlement Depot. So, I don't know how many resorts shared buses. But, there were only 2 or 3 buses to service all the resorts.

The bus driver asks where you are going, and tells you what bus. They have zones but sort of improvised. Not same every time.

We're doing the 8:30 Hoop-Dee-Doo on May 31st and I was curious if they still had the buses available.
I'm not sure which we will do but I'm leaning toward catching the boat back to the Magic Kingdom to get to Riverside if we have to make all those stops.

Thanks for the info... :thumbsup2

When does the MK close that night?

According to the hours posted on the Disney website the MK is open until 11:00 on 5/31.
So boat transportation will be available to the MK after the 8:30 show is over, and there will be bus transportation from the MK
