Hoop-de-doo 2nd show in September unbookable?

I am wanting to snag the 2nd show (6:15pm) of Hoop de doo on September 4th for a party of 2 and nothing is available. I thought this sounded strange as we are still 4 to 5 months out and I'm booking during a "slower" time.

I poked around and I couldn't find ANY 6:15pm shows available for a party of 2 for any night in September. But there are plenty of 4pm and 8:30pm spots still open. Does this seem strange to anyone? Do they hold these back? Or is this time extremely popular?

P.S. I don't see any in October either....

It's just a little fishy to me when the 6:15 spot is available every day in May except one (yes I'm a little nerdy).

Maybe they only open this time slot up one month in advance?

I wonder is something is up with that show time. We had booked it for an evening in August but Disney recently contacted us to see if we could switch to an earlier or later show (which we did...got some pixie dust in return)

I booked at the 180 day mark, and had no problem getting the 6:15 show for September 8th. It is the more popular show, so it very well could be booked up. The 2nd show is usually the one that books up solid of the 3. Keep checking.

I can't believe that it is booking up solid at exactly 180 days out day after day after day. It seems fully booked for 6 weeks in september and october right now! I'm hoping this is some crazy glitch, I really wanted 6:15 for december!

It doesn't normally get fully booked right at the 180 day mark.. It usually ends up fully booked, but not right away. It is unusual that every day in Sept/Oct, the second show isn't showing availability. It might be a glitch! Good luck!

it has to either be a glitch or disney is not booking the 6:15 show for some other reason.

My 180 day mark was today...up at 6am to make ADR's and couldn't get a 6:15 Hoop De Doo for the last week of October. There were 4pm and 8:30pm slots available. :confused3

My 180 day was Monday and I was unable to book the 6:15 show the last week of October.
I called and talked to a CM and explained that I had been checking and 6:15 had been unavailable for weeks. She put me on hold a few minutes and came back to say she could not find an explanation in there system at all. She acknowledged I was correct.
All she could offer was to keep checking.

crazy. there is no way it is booked if no one is booking it. Maybe they think they can get the other shows to book more if they hold out the 6:15 til later - people will book the 4pm or 8:30pm and then when they open up the 6:15 a ton of people who would have booked that show will be already booked into other shows... some will change (people who read the dis) but some might not care.

There seems to be something weird going on with fall ADRs. I'm wondering if they plan on cutting back on staff at all restaurants. I've been checking availability for various places in prep for my ADR day on May 9 and every time I check there are no BOG lunch ADRs, no PPO Crystal Palace, no Sci-Fi later than 4pm,etc for the several weeks in October that I have been checking. However, I can book BOG lunch in Aug no problem, CP PPO in July. I can't believe that I can get ADRs for July, but not for the end of Oct when I check at 7:30-8am at 180 days. (Yes, I have too much time on my hands:rotfl:)

With free dining just being released, and with it being historically at that time of year, many things will be super busy. With Hoop, the 2nd show is usually PACKED, where as the 4pm is DEAD, and the 8:30 is a healthy mix, sometimes sold out, sometimes not so much. If you can, I'd do the first or last, the first one if it's emptier you've got a higher interaction level, and a higher chance of being picked for something.
8:30 is also super fun if you're okay being out later! (usually when we go)

I was able to book the 6:15 p.m. show for 10/9/16 without an issue. I booked at maybe 175 days because we didn't decide immediately where we wanted to go for dinner that night. I believe it took a couple of tries and perhaps a page refresh to get it to go through, but it went. Wouldn't surprise me if it is Disney website glitchiness again, but usually the dining reservation line is able to book when online isn't functioning well. :confused3

So I went ahead and grabbed an 8:30 while I plan on continuing to check for the 6:15 spot.

Has anyone else tried reserving the 8:30 in category 1 using dining credits? The lady on the phone had no idea what I was talking about. But the dining plan docs say that you can get category 1 for the 8:30 show.

I also tried to book the 6:15 at my 180 day for late Oct with no luck. I started a thread about it, and several other people have had this issue for Sept/Oct. There is something going on, but no one knows what it is! Calling hasn't helped- they aren't seeing any availability either.

I have an 8:30 cat 1 res for 8/31 booked with the dining plan. I had no problem booking it.

I called and the CM put me on hold to research it. She came back and stated she could see what I was saying and their was no explanation in their system as to why. She said to keep checking.
I read on another thread where a poster with a 6:15 booked in Septemebmer was called to cancel their ADR. They were offered a

Interesting - I did not see any availability at 6:15pm for November at 180+6 - I was trying to book it for the last night of my trip. I checked all the other nights and there is nothing, which makes me suspect they aren't releasing it for some reason. maybe they are going back to two seatings again and haven't released the new hours, or they just haven't released that seating.
