Are there pin boards (for trading) anywhere at DLR (DL, DCA, DTD, etc.)? Some WDW resorts and shops have special pin boards. Pin boards vary: some are always on display, others at scheduled times, and others only when CM's opt to share them.

A better question might be "Where aren't there pins"? There's a pin shop at DTD (nice selection... my son spent his birthday gift card there), and several places in both parks. The resort hotels also have pins. One day at DL, there appeared to be a pin trading event. People with huge books of pins. You'll have fun!

There are a few pin trading stations, 1 in DTD and I think one in DLR. Anyways, Pins are sold everywhere. We had the most fun trading the CM's that we saw all over the parks. They are very nice about it and patient too. You do have to be careful to the pin traders standing at the trading tables with their books because in our experience they only would trade if you went into a certain store and bought a set of pins they wanted. Expensive. We opted to trade with CM's instead and received some really cool pins. I have already loaded up on pins for this trip purely for trading --fun!!!:dance3:

fyi, not every trader with a book on the tables are as disneydreamer described. I know that we have not asked anyone to go buy a pin for us but we do put our book out on the tables sometimes. But we are not hardcore collectors either.

Anyway, there are 3 trading "stations", 1 at the pin shop in DTD, 1 at PT Flea in DCA and 1 at the pin shop in Frontierland. They will each have designated trading times and right now they have the boards out. There will also be CMs all thru the parks and in DTD that will lanyards to trade with you. Have a good time!

I just got back from a 3 day visit to DLR. To me and my group, it didn't seem like there were all that many CM's trading. The first day (6/18), I think I traded 3 pins. The 2nd day, I didn't even bring my pins. Got a bit more focused on the 3rd day and found more CM's. We did take advantage of the Haunted House O-pin event happening now until sometime in August - got some limited additions, plus lots of other pins and stuff.

I was at WDW this past December where I really got hooked...seemed like there is much more participation in FL. My experience in FL with the non-CM's (those with the books) are that the never want anything you have, but if you want one of theirs, they'll gladly show you a $14 pin to purchase. If you aren't a serious collector - beware - you may be "trading" for a scrapper they got off ebay for $1.25. It's much funner to trade with CM's anyway.

Thank you, my point exactly. I cannot say that every person trading with their books wants a new pin in the store. It is just that the 2 days we traded last year, there were almost always the SAME persons there, and each and every time we stopped they would not trade for anything BUT a new pin in the store. So, I just want to forewarn the OP that this could happen, hopefully it will not. I prefer trading with CM's. They get a variety of pins from people in the parks. But, really ... to each his own.
