Well..my 04/06 cruise on the Magic was everything and more than what I had expected...even though rough seas prevailed. The girls (6 & 8) had the vacation of a lifetime and there's no question we will do this again. I don't know that I'd want to do Disney "every" year. I would certainly do it every couple years or so. If I wanted to mix things up a little with a different cruise, which lines would you recommend that are "kid friendly". My destination interests are the Caribbean area and Pacific Coast (Alaska etc.). Thx.

Although many people have issues with Carnival, I have sailed on them a few times (on their newer ships) and had no problems. Service, food, activities, atmosphere was great....not Disney but great nontheless. Carnival has the most ships of any cruise line and are always offering specials. They even offer the smoke-free ship the Paradise which is very popular with non-smokers.

Royal Caribbean is also a very good cruise line in the Caribbean.

I have not been to Alaska so I cannot comment on that one.

We were on Voyager of the Seas, and it was definitely a family-friendly ship! All kinds of neat stuff to do, like the rock climbing wall, ice skating, mini-golf, etc.
When we sailed on Radiance (also RCCL) to Alaska, there were TONS of kids, but there didn't seem to be as much for them to do. There was only one indoor pool, which was supposedly for adults, but of course the kids were in there because it was way too cold for them in the outdoor kids pools. Very poor planning on RCCL's part. I also got the impression that there was less overall for them to do, as they were much more underfoot than on Voyager. But I think their mega-ships are great for the little ones.
