Hello!

I haven't seen many HKDL reports and have a few questions I am hoping someone can help me with. We are on a Princess cruise in February/March with a full day in port in Hong Kong on a Friday. 7am-11pm. I've seen a lot of reports of taxi vs the metro with the Mickey Windows. And a few reports that you spend a lot of time clearing through customs after getting off the ship and that eats into your Disney day. I've never had to clear customs in any ports on other cruises, so this is new to me. Is this accurate? If we immediately disembark upon arrival into port at 7am, that should still leave us plenty of time to get transportation to the park as they open at 10am. How far is the metro station form the cruise terminal? If we have to take a taxi to the metro station, perhaps more efficient to just take a taxi to the park and skip the metro altogether? Since our ship is in port late, is it safe for us to be out after dark leaving the park and returning to the cruise terminal late at night?

Thanks for any help you can provide. We are excited to be visiting HKDL and want to make sure we've planned accordingly.

Hong Kong has 2 cruise terminals.

If your cruise gets off at Ocean Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui, it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the train platforms at Tsim Sha Tsui Station. If you don't get lost, you can probably get to the park entrance in about one hour after disembarking. There's no point taking a taxi to Tsim Sha Tsui station because there's a station entrance very close to where you get off the cruise but you just have to walk a bit underground to get to the turnstiles and train platform. Taking a taxi all the way to Disneyland should take just under 1/2 an hour.

Kai Tak Cruise terminal is super inconvenient so you may want to take a taxi for this one. If you want to have a lower taxi fare and also experience the Disney Resort Line, you can take the taxi to V Walk which is attached to Nam Cheong station. Shops may not be open till 10AM but you can take the MTR from there.

It is usually safe to be out at night. Safer than most American and European cities.

I don't know what the immigration procedures are for cruises so someone else can answer that.
