Hello everyone,
My Fiancee and I will be coming to Disney on Oct 18th-24th 2010, we are staying at the Coronado Springs Resort. After our "land" trip we are going on a 4 day Bahama's cruise on the Disney cruise.
I am really hoping to get some direction on "how to do it all ". I have booked a bunch of meals and upgraded to the "super" dinning plan. I don't have those meals in front of me but I will post. We both haven't been to Disney in over 20 years and we want to take it all in.
Questions:
1) Can the hotels (my hotel) do anything "special" to our room to make it more "honeymoon like?"
2) Will we get those pins saying we are honeymooners? if not where can we buy them? Can we get them before we leave?
3) I was told we can invite Mickey & Minnie to our wedding and they will send us an autographed copy of themselfs at their wedding. Is that true? What is that address?
4) I want to do something "special" (no sure what-open to suggestions) for my new husband in Disney? What if anything can we do?
5) Since we are going on the cruise after the land trip can we ship items we may have bought home? My bags are going to be packed full and I don't think I will have the room to bring anything home- do the shops/hotels offer shipping to your house?
6)The Mickeys not so scary Halloween party - I bought tickets- Do we dress up? Or do we just go? What do we do? And what is it all about?

Think that's everything! I am a stressing out bride who wants to make sure EVERYTHING is okay! Thanks so much :bride:

To answer number 6. You'll want to dress up! It’s the best part lol. My wife and I went for our honeymoon in Oct of 07 and had a blast. We’ve been back every since! Where else can you dress up for Halloween and go trick or treating at the age of 22(at the time)? HA! Mickey’s not so scary Halloween is by far my most favorite event. Aside from the trick or treating, special fire works and parades you simply can’t beat the atmosphere!! They turn down all the lights on Main st. and play with eerie music that’s dare I say… "not so scary" <--- sorry couldn’t resist lol. I don’t want to go into too much detail because I don’t want to ruin it for you. Do yourself a favor and don’t read or watch video on it. I know it’s hard not to but its really something you'll want to experience first hand rather then watching it on a website. Have Fun and congrats on the wedding!

I'll take a shot at number 4 as well. When we went for our honeymoon we did something both of us have always wanted to do but we did'nt do it on Disney property which was swim with the dolphins. We ended up renting a car for the day and driving to Discovery Cove. It was AWESOME!! If you haven’t heard of it you should check it out if its something you may be able to do. We had the time of our lives!

Congrats and have fun!

You can arrange flower and gift deliverys to the room. The Disney Florists is available and there are a few sites around Orlando that will deliver special things. My wife and I have arranged flowers and a cake before. I don't have the sites available but google is your friend.

This site, The Disney Romantic may have some ideas.

2) Will we get those pins saying we are honeymooners? if not where can we buy them? Can we get them before we leave?

Tell the folks at the desk as you check in. They usually have the pins there and will even put your date on there for you. You may also be able to look up your reservation online and add a celebration (I think that option is available currently). Wear your pins, the CMs will make your stay special!

3) I was told we can invite Mickey & Minnie to our wedding and they will send us an autographed copy of themselfs at their wedding. Is that true? What is that address?

If you are getting married at Disney, Mickey and Minnie can attend. At least the reception. Disney can make many things happen...but for a price. The Mouse is a busy dude and his time ain't cheap! I don't know about mailing for a picture but you might ask at the desk also or...it just occured to me...check with the Disney Wedding folks. They have a site online (Google, it'll pop up).

4) I want to do something "special" (no sure what-open to suggestions) for my new husband in Disney? What if anything can we do?

My wife and I had dinner at Victoria and Alberts but that is pretty pricey! You might look into a fireworks cruise (much more affordable). We did that with a group of friends on our last honeymoon trip. It's a lot of fun!

Or, how about a spa trip? The Grand Floridian has a nice one. Couples massages or some such?

Take a walk along the beach at the Poly or WL. Just before the MK fireworks. Or dinner for the fireworks at California Grill. Ask for a window seat.

5) Since we are going on the cruise after the land trip can we ship items we may have bought home? My bags are going to be packed full and I don't think I will have the room to bring anything home- do the shops/hotels offer shipping to your house?

Yes, you can ask that purchased items be shipped. We've done that at time of purchase but I think it can be arranged at the hotel. As I recall, it may be a little more expensive than if you were to do it yourself but they pack, label and ship for you. Very convienient.

You can also order items from the parks after your trip. If you see something you like jot down the number on the price tag (SKU number?), price and description. Disney Parks Merchandise will get it and ship it for you. I beliive the number for them is 407-363-6200.

My wife and I have just gone but many folks dress up. Have a good time!

I'm thinking everything is OK. Deep breath...relax!

See the Hats in Alacrity's Avatar?

My MOH MADE them!

She had a Black and White Baseball Cap embroidered with Bride and Groom in our color. Then she hot glued EARS on. She added a veil and a tiara to mine.

I can't tell you how many comments we had on those hats! We were watching the afternoon Parade in MK from the Train Platform and MICKEY pointed at us and motioned CONGRATULATIONS! It is a very special and unique memory.

I asked her to make them primarily because at the time, they had a horribly UNcomfortable Top Hat for your Groom....and an equally UNcomfy headband for the Bride! These were great!

Ya'll will be there right smack in the middle of Food and Wine as well as the Halloween Party!

My wife and I honeymooned at WDW and stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. When we booked through our travel agent we mentioned it was our honeymoon. At WL they brought a basket to the room with a bottle of champagne and souvinier glasses.

We were young and the guy at the door asked my wife if her parents were there, when he saw me he turned red handed her the basket and ran away. We got a big laugh.
