guys...i need your help on planning a honeymoon trip!...resort and eats and things to do...so i would like everyone's input on
#1 where to stay
#2 where to eat
#3 what to do in the parks
#4 what to do outside the parks
mods please dont move this to other board...i need help from EVERYONE!...PLEASE?;)

SOME BACKGROUND:we have 4 kids ( 2 each from prev mar) and have been to wdw several times with the kids and we really want a romantic get away for us away from the kids..we have 4 nights and 5 days to stay and enjoy the magic...our budget is around $3,000...it is a 2 hour drive to the world so we have no other expense.

Well, I don't have much time right now to cover all your questions but as for which resort, I would say either the Grand Floridian or the Polynesian. Neither one can be beat for their atmosphere. Also I would try to book a Lagoon View Room at either one and request a view of the castle. Tell them it's your honeymoon, and they are very likely to meet that request.

Congrats & happy planning!!! :D

I would vote for either the Grand Floridian or the Boardwalk Inn. I think they are the most romantic and perfectly suited for a honeymoon. ;) As far as views go I would suggest lagoon view in Boca Chica at the GF, unless you REALLY want to splurge and then I'd suggest a honeymoon room in the main building with a castle view! ;) At the BWI I would suggest a garden view room overlooking the World Showcase. That is what dh and I had and we found it to be very romantic and peaceful overlooking the rose gardens and watching Illuminations from our balcony. :D

For dining I would suggest:
Artist Point
Le Cellier
Citrico's
California Grill
Fulton's
Palio's
Flying Fish

They are all excellent restaurants and very romantic. ;)

As far as what to do I would suggest an Illuminations cruise (VERY romantic). You can book a cruise alone or with other people. DH and I booked a boat all to ourselves called the Breathless. It docks over at the Yacht Club and was truely one of the most romantic moments of my life. :D

Inside the parks I'd just suggest riding all the rides you want and eating lots of good food! :D When dh and I go without the kids we like to spend time at the World Showcase.... you can try the "German Challenge", it's a HUGE beer that they dare you to finish. ;) Also we like to ride the Rockin Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror over and over! (we never get to do that with the kids)

#1... just have fun! And do whatever makes the 2 of you happy. There is a GREAT book you can get at your local bookstore called Disney World for Couples. They give TONS of info on romantic things you can do all around WDW. They even give $$$ next to the suggestion so you know how much it costs. Lots of good ideas in there. ;)

tigrlrvspooh..i thank you so much for your detailed response and thanks for helping me out with resorts and places to take my girl...i very much appreciate your candor and views...this is exactky what i need..thanks for your effort

I would suggest you visit Our Disney Weddings and Honeymoons Board for some tips. The best place for information on Resorts is this board. Dining tips go to the Restaurants board, Theme Parks, Attractions and Statigies for Park information, and Orlando Hotels and Attractions for things to do outside the parks. We do move topics to "guide" folks to the most accurate information possible the site and our posters have to offer. Enjoy your trip :D

and let me tell you you're in for a real treat. That was 8 years ago and we've gone every year since. WDW is a very romantic place to be. At the time my husband was a Radisson employee so we stayed off-site. However, since that time...we've been on-site each year.

Our favorite resort is YC/BC and I think it would be great for honeymooners. Why? Walking distance to World showcase which can be very romantic with all the great restaurants and entertainment. Plus, the Boardwalk area is so beautiful. You can walk or take the boat to MGM as well.

It's a beautiful place to be.

You asked about restaurants. Try California Grille, Chefs de France, Le Cellier, San Angel, Narcoosees. These are great choices for good food and romantic atmosphere.

Take lots of strolls - we like to visit different resorts and stroll around all the beautiful lakes.

And this is fun if you're outdoorsy, which we are. Go to Fort Wilderness and take a hay ride. Also, rent a canoe. Tons of fun and IMHO very romantic.

Enjoy - and congratulations.

I would suggest either the Poly or the GF for a honeymoon. Also if you are into fine foods I would highly suggest a trip to V&A's. It would require you to bring a jacket on vacation and her a nice dress, but totally worth it. I think you could definitely afford it on the budget you've got worked currently. Two other romantic spots I would recommend are Artist Point and San Angel Inn, both are noted for their quieter, more intimate atmospheres. As for what to do in the parks, same thing as everyone else, ride the rides, take silly pictures, eat yummy snacks. For outside the park consider a boat ride of some type, a night at Pleasure Island. The Jazz Club is very nice. Maybe try a game of miniature golf. It really depends on the type of people you are and what's romantic for you. But as a side note they have added carriage rides over at Fort Wilderness.

hi: my son and dil split their honeymoon with 5nights in a 1br at bwv and 5 nights at the gf. both can be equally romantic and have a lot of plusses. we were able to get a great ap special for the gf and we're dvc members so they just used our points.

We honeymooned in June 2000 at the GF and LOVED it!!
We spent a day at each park, a night at the Boardwalk/Jellyrolls, a night at Pleasure Island, a day at Typhoon Lagoon, and a day shopping at Downtown Disney. And of course we also squeezed in some swimming at the GF.

We ate at:
California Grill for dinner
Cindy's for lunch
San Angel Inn for dinner
Chef Mickey's for breakfast
Mama Melrose for dinner/fantasmic
50's Primetime for lunch
Tony's for dinner (I DO NOT recommend Tony's...YUCK)

Just remember to take things slow! Relax and enjoy each other! Don't be shy...ask others to take pictures of y'all together!!

We honeymooned @ Disney & loved it!!
The resturaunt that gets overlooked alot but is GREAT is Le Chefs de France in France at EPCOT. It is romantic with great food!! Ask to sit by a window!!

For resorts, I'd vote for Poly with a view of the castle or AKL, a very peaceful, relaxing resort. If you are the type to enjoy such things, a trip to the spa before an evening out is probably something that you don't get to do with the kids around. My DH & I really enjoyed our night at PI. Just walked around to the various clubs, etc. The comedy Club was great. Another romantic meal, IMHO, is the restaurant at the top of CR, timed to watch the fireworks at MK. Do all the things you don't get to do when the kids are along. My DH likes to go to World Showcase and have a beer from each country, tends to take awhile and the kids get impatient. DH also likes Boardwalk, especially ESPN Club.

Congratulations and happy planning!

just got back from a 8 day honeymoon to disney, we stayed at Coronado Springs, with a king bed and a lake view--it made us feel like we were in mexico or some southwestern area! we liked our room a lot, it was perfect for what we needed it for. i don't think it is worth it to pay a lot for a room at disney, there is too much stuff to do! the moderates work best for us. people also say port orleans is a romantic, but i did not go there.
