Honeymoon xtra's - what did you get??

We got married last September (very slow time of year - between hurricanes) at the Poly, and had our honeymoon at CSR. While we received tons of congratulations from guests and CMs, we did not receive anything free. My little sister had even bought the bride & groom mouse ears for us, so we wore them most of the time, but still received nothing. :bride: :groom:

We had also paid for a water view, and were not given one when we checked in. The first room we received had a view of some broken trees and the parking lot, and it smelled like mildew. We went back down to the check-in area, and explained the situation and were moved to a very nice corner room with a view of the lake. But there were no apologies or anything.

The trip was wonderful, and we are going back this year, but I was a little disappointed after I had heard so many stories about free stuff. It made me feel like we weren't as "special" as the other couples. :sad2:

My husband and I went on our honeymoon two weeks after Sept 11th happened. We didnt expect anything. We had been up for 35 hours ( we went straight from our reception to the airport with a tiny stop at my mom's to change our clothes) When we arrived at The All-star Music to check in my hair was still up from the wedding with my tiara ( I left the veil with the dress) They asked when we got married, and got us our room early, they let us pick what section of the resort we wanted to be in since it was so deserted I suspect. ( My DH chose Jazz)

About 4 hours later a CM came to our room and brought us a Autographed Photo of Donald and Daisy ( Donald is my DH favorite)

We had maid PS for The Rose and Crown for Dinner and had planned it to be when Illuminations was happening. We didnt think that we would get out by the water but we did! The CM's brought us our Champagne with a dessert just as Illuminations was starting which was very kind.

The last thing that happened was on our last night in the Magic Kingdom, we were on Dumbo just as the fireworks started which was quite romantic, it was like they were going off just for us. :love2:

We were at the Poly for our Honeymoon last year. We did get a lagoon view upgrade, (the end room of Tokelau) but we decided to not take it because it would not be ready for several hours and we were beat from the day before and just wanted to relax. We ended up taking the original room we requested which was ready right away. Other than the initial upgrade there was not anything else special about our stay. We are both kind of shy so we did not wear the ears or anything, but it was supposed to be noted on all of our PS's that we were on our Honeymoon, no extras. I think the advice of "Expect Nothing" is smart, some times people read on these boards of special treatment and expect the same. We were not disappointed in the least with our trip because we got everything we paid for and were expecting.

I can only remember two things from my honeymoon last Sept- we played minature golf and were given a free mug and free drinks. However, my favorite was in Epcot, while shopping I bought a Mickey and Minnie pin- they were cutting a wedding cake. Well, while I was paying, the CM gave me the phone saying I had a phone call- It was Mickey Mouse wishing my congratulations! Very sweet!

We were on our honeymoon last year, stayed at Boardwalk Villas. We went to the a character breakfast and were talking to Jasmine, she asked if we were celabrating anything specila and we told her it was our honeymoon. Well after a long day in the parks we came back to our room to find a congratulations ballon tied to a card from jasmine and Aladdin congratulating us. It was such a nice surprise.

We didn't have the ears. :( mY husband said he wouldn't wear them lol
