Hi all,

I was just wondering what you honeymooners (even the couples that are celebrating their anniversaries!) do to celebrate that special occasion.

First thing i'm planning on doing is purchasing those mickey & minnie wedding hats :-) and hope to get some special "treatment" in the end :earboy2:

Can't wait...we are so excited!!

BTW - we'll be there from Oct 3 to Oct 13 at CPGV.

Last year we had our first dinner at California grill and then watched wishes (wasn't a honeymoon trip but a getaway for my boyfriend and I) that was a great way to start the trip. We also went to the poly grabbed pina coladas at Tambu longe and grabbed a hammock and watched the fireworks from there! If you don't mind spending $$$$$ Victoria and Alberts is ultimate in luxury dining @ WDW but it will break the bank.

Cinderella's royal table @ Mk was pretty romantic considering it was in the castle! We also took a carraige ride @ POR (we were staying @ PoFQ)

We never did these things but plan to some day:
- Couple's massage @ Grand Floridian Spa
-Illuminations Cruise

Congratulations!!!

I second the California Grill - ask for a window seat.

You will also be there during the Epcot Food and Wine festival - take an afternoon/evening and eat and drink your way around the World Showcase.

You will be on your Honeymoon and don't know what to do??? :love2: :love2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seriously, hope you have a great time!!

I was thinkin' the same thing! LOL!

Whatever you do, enjoy your special time!

La Nouba would be fun to see.

Maybe a Wishes or Illuminations cruise.

Have dinner at some of the nicer restaurants on property.

Have his and her massages at the GF or SSR spas.

So, even if we're staying at the CPGV we could still grab a hammock there and enjoy the view? I was a bit hesitant of going on other propertys....

And for all of you wondering..... YES I KNOW WHAT TO DO...but I'd like to do something else at times too :P hahahhaha

CONGRATS!!! My DH and I went around the same time for our disneymoon. It is a wonderful time to be there!

As you mentioned, be sure to get the Mickey wedding ears. We got a lot of positive treatment from the cast members. :bride: :groom:

We took real advantage of the F&WF at Epcot. Many of the late afternoons and evenings we spent watching Illuminations and walking around the World Showcase enjoying wine and goodies.

Spend plenty of time relaxing by the pool or on a bench by the beach at either the Poly, YC and BC, GF, or the many other beautiful hotels - we loved walking back to our hotel (Swan) at night and stopping at a bench in front of the BC and watching all the happenings at the Boardwalk.

Go out for a couple of nice dinners and be sure to order in a couple of nights. Epcot was our favorite park for dinner...Mexico, France, Canada. However, our all time fav wasn't even in the parks, it was in the Swan at Palio. They new it was our honeymoon and they had their musicians play and sing to us, they gave us complimentary champaign and dessert, and treated us like royalty - plus the food was fabulous!!! However, as I said, ordering room service, and adding in a bottle of wine, is great too; especially when you end up in the hot tub for a late night dip!

Again, congrats to you and your fiancé!!! I hope that you have a very magical time!!!

Are you getting married onsite???

No we are getting married in our home town in Canada before flying to Orlando.

So, I guess everyone does that - relaxing by the pool or beach of another hotel!! I thought you couldn't use their pool if you weren't staying at that hotel..hmmm. Surprise, surprise to me!

First & actually our last time that we were in Orlando, we stayed at the Dolphin - we loved it. This time we opted for off-site, larger suite with hot tub for 2 and we love the fact of being able to eat off-site. That way, we are able to stay longer for the same price :-)

About the wine & food festival... see, i had scratched it off my list.... but I guess it's an absolute thing to be at!! ?!? More feedback would be appreciated.

Any more ideas??? Send them along!!

For my Disneymoon last year, I got food poisoning  , which I don't recommend. Whatever you do, don't eat leftovers from the day before, fi you don't have a fridge (which you will so its a moot point!)

I decided not to plan a bunch of big events and to just enjoy our time (we really didn't have the extra money for that stuff anyway, that when to our house :goodvibes ) CPGV is fine for relaxing at too!

I, too, don't believe it's ok to swim at other resorts if you aren't staying on Disney property.

You could try to go on an Illuminations cruise with someone else (you can find people willing to share on the Illuminations cruise thread.)

I would probably do a couple of nice sit-downs.

It really depends on your interests and budget!!
Congrats and best wishes!

We're going on our Disneymoon in July... And I have been planning the honeymoon longer than the wedding, so it should be FUN!!

Here's what we are planning:

** Dinner our first night at Narcoossee's (Grand Floridian) and I am ordering us one of those Mini Wedding Cakes. $25, but they look so YUMMY!!

** Our package includes PSs to Illuminations, so we are going into Epcot our first night to see that.

** We have an 8:30 PS at 'Ohana on Wednesday. Hopefully, we'll get a window seat and will be able to see Wishes from there.

** Buying the Mickey & Minnie ears.

** Dinners at: Cinderella's Royal Table, Coral Reef, Fulton's, Mama Melrose's (Fantasmic Dinner Package) as well.

** We're going to see La Nouba our first night there.

You could also do a carriage ride... I think this is done at the Wilderness Lodge, and at one of the Port Orleans resorts.

Spa treatments at the Grand Floridian would be great! Dinner at Victoria & Albert's but it's EXPENSIVE.

We honeymooned last May and we did a lot of special things such as a wonderful dinner at California Grill watching the fireworks, a couples' massage at Grand Floridian, saw La Nouba and did an Illuminations Cruise.
No matter what-your in WDW on your honeymoon, you will have a great time!! We just had a blast running around all the parks!
Congratulations and dont forget to wear your ears! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

We are bad! That was my first thought when I read the thread title! :rotfl:

Have a great trip!

I will also be honeymooning at disney in Sept. However I have 2 step kids and we decided to bring them with us and my parents are going to help baby sit some. Im trying to convince her to wear the ears but Ill win. Have a great time and enjoy.

Hi Chanty !!

I am going to be on my Disneymoon almost the exact same time - Oct 4 - 13th!!
How exciting !!!

We haven't planned anything quite yet ..except we got our
Mickey's Not So Very Scary Halloween Party Tickets !! and I can't wait to go .. Are you going ??????

We are staying at the Poly and then heading to the Disney Cruise for 4 days!! :earsboy:

We went to WDW on our honeymoon. We stayed at what is now Port Orleans Riverside. We had a PS for Rainforest Cafe one night and decided to take the boat to Downtown Disney/Pleasure Island. We loved this!!! I would suggest taking a bus or driving to POR and hopping on the boat launch at night. The first part of the ride is like a river ride in the South (fits the mood for the resort) but then as you get closer you have a GREAT view of all the resorts, DD/PI and the light are pretty cool. We loved this and took the boat launch whenever possible. If we left right at dusk we found that the crowds from the resort on the boat were pretty light so we had the boat to ourselves.

I would also suggest taking advantage of night EMH for MK and riding all of the mountains and other favorite rides at night. They're just something about the MK at night. Most of the families with those pesky strollers (that me now!!!) are gone and the park is left to mostly couples and families with other kids. We loved this and won't pass up a late night at MK anymore!

Have a great trip and enjoy each other. WDW is THE BEST place for a honeymoon since you have soooo many opportunities for both romance and fun. :goodvibes

Our honeymoon was my first trip to WDW so we did tourist stuff.

Our 2nd annv.:
WE celebrated with friends over dinner at Tony's Town Square, wore our B+G mouse ears, ate brkfst at CRT, Went to nicer rest than we norm would, did MNSSHP and dressed up. Just enjoyed being together at happiest place on earth.

I personally could take or leave F+W fest but we aren't drinkers of alcohol and most of the food we didn't like for one reason or another.

Watch which wedding hats you choose. Here's an excerpt from my epic trip report:

When we get to the resort monorail waiting area, there’s a guy and girl standing there wearing those newlywed Mickey hats. He has the top hat with ears and she has the white hat with veil and ears. Now, I just can’t keep myself from glancing at these things. This guys hat is like a car wreck to me, I JUST CAN’T stop looking at it. And it seems that every time I glance at his hat, he makes eye contact with me....The look on his face is like...”Whatchou lookin’ at!!!???” “Geez man, I’m lookin at the Abe Lincoln hat with rodent ears on it”....I mean c’mon, ya don’t see THAT every day.

Hi there! I'll be there in August for my honeymoon (well, wedding too)! We're actually flying to Orlando on August 10th and then driving to Daytona Beach, where we're staying at our (okay, HIS) timeshare's resort (the one in Orlando is full, darn it!). Then we'll run all of our errands (get the marriage license, meet with the marriage folks, etc) and chill for the night. We'll be at IOA on the 11th, and have a PS for dinner at Emeril's afterward. Friday the 12th is the "big day" - we'll have a sunrise ceremony on the beach (just us - no "real" wedding...we've both been married previously. This one's about the magic, not the big ceremony with the family and friends), and then go back to the resort to relax. Dinner that evening is at Victoria & Albert's.

Then Saturday the 13th will be MGM, where we'll have dinner at the Brown Derby. Sunday the 14th is Epcot, where we'll have a light lunch at Les Chefs de France (mainly to get out of the heat for a bit) and dinner at Alfredo's.

Monday the 15th will be Universal, where we'll leave by around 2:00 so that we can get a break from the parks for an evening. Then Tuesday the 16th will be Universal and/or IOA - the repeat attractions, doing what we missed, etc. Dinner will be at Hard Rock Cafe (just 'cause I love the atmosphere). Then we leave on Wednesday the 17th.

I think we're gonna have a blast. :cheer2: Our main focus is to get out there and have fun with no kids (I have a 7 and 9 YO from previous marriage). I've always wanted to explore Epcot and MGM without the kids trying to pull me in other directions, or wanting to ride RNR 6 times in a row (yes, I LOVE that ride, but puh-leeze, there's other stuff to see and do! ;) ). We also want to learn about Universal/IOA since we know nothing about them and will be spending several days there (more time at WDW, of course!) next summer and want to have a plan based on personal experience when we go with the kids at that time.

I told DH2B about the ::MickeyMo and ::MinnieMo wedding hats, and I don't think he's terribly thrilled about us wearing them, but he will do it to appease me. He's so sweet. :) I also mentioned that we were there for our wedding/honeymoon when I made my PSs for our selected WDW restaurants. (It was very discreet, though. When asked what name to put it under: "oh, should I give you my name now or what it will be at that time? We'll be there for our honeymoon." The CM would then say, "oh, it's your honeymoon? That's great!" and then I'd hear clickety-clack like they were typing that in...)

Anyway, sorry about the long, rambling post, but I get excited reading about people's honeymoon plans and I wanted to share my details too. Never thought I'd honeymoon in theme parks, but I can't wait! It will be fabulous. I'm looking so forward to it! :flower:
