Hi everyone!
We just got back from our honeymoon at WDW, and I wanted to share the hightlights of our trip with you. Going into this we expected nothing. And maybe because we didn't expect anything is why our honeymoon turned out to be so magical and memerable for us.
We wore our bride and grooms ears frequently the first week, and got many people, (CM's and others), saying congrads and wishing us well on our marriage. (With all the attention we received the first week of our honeymoon, we decided not to wear our ears the second week. I wanted some alone time with my hubby!)
Our first day we spent at AK. (Wearing our hats of course.) Just on the outside of entering the park, there was a choir singing Christmas music. In mid song, the choir in unision sang, "Congradulations to the Bride and Groom" and then continued with the Christmas song they were singing. I was in shock, looked over at the choir, and they looked at us and smiled while they continued singing! It also surprised a few people around us!
Just a few seconds later, as we're walking towards the ticket counter, a tree that walks and communicates with guests in a robot voice came rolling towards me singing, "dum dum daadum", then stops by my feet and says, "Congradulations to the bride and groom!" It was just too cute! The tree then went off to talk with some kids around us.
Upon leaving AK for the day, a CM who noticed our hats, told us he'd like to give a lasting memory of our day at AK, and gave us a Magical Moments certificate!!
None of our other park days were as magical as this one, so that's why I wanted to share it with you.
Here's a quick list of how the CM's made our honeymoon speical:
--Got free fast passes for Buzz
--We got our own row on Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Not our own boat, just the row we were sitting in. Very nice!
--We got our own honey vehicle for Whinnie the Pooh ride.
--Free desert at Coral Reef
--Confetti on our table and another Magical Moments Certificate at Liberty Tree Tavern
Following from Wilderness Lodge:
--Complimentary room upgrade: Went from Woodsview to Courtyard view. (No, we didn't wear the hats upon checking in.)
"Honeymoon" was written on our reservation.
--Photo of Mickey and Minnie! In the photo, Mickey's carrying a suitecase and their leaving for their honeymoon. The photo was signed by Minnie Mouse! She wrote something like, 'Dave and Michelle, Congrads on your honeymoon. Wishing you the best for your future together. Love, Minnie Mouse"
(The photo was slipped under our room door at WL.) I plan on framing this photo. Mickey and Minnie in the photo wern't cartoon caracters. It was a "live shot." You know, people dressed in the costumes. Even my husband really likes the photo.
--We stayed at WL the second week of our honeymoon, and since we wern't wearing our ears, we left them in our room. Our maid left a new towel animal every day for a total of 7 by the end of our stay. She talked with us our last day and mentioned we could take them home with us! I brought 5 of them home.
One last thing worth mentioning:
--I received a phone call from Mickey and Minnie Mouse congradulating us on our wedding and honeymoon! This shocked me the most, as I've never heard of anyone getting this. I don't want to spoil this for anyone, so I won't say where or when the call was...., but I will say, you have to wear the ears for this to happen!
Our honeymoon was so fabulous! We are planning to do a Vow Renewal thru DisneyWorld in 5 or 10 years, so I'll still be visiting this board!
