Day 5 Wednesday 3rd November: Islands of adventure.
Ugh our heads ..
Just kidding. We actually didnt have a huge amount to drink the night before due to the sheer price of the booze so we felt perfectly fine when we got up. So we wandered over to dennys and had breakfast.
What a contrast to Perkins. All the staff were 50 times happier and they were friendly and chatting away to us. We had a waiter called shahkhan so all the way through breakfast I couldnt help but sing shaka khan shaka khan every body shaka khan. Not to his face of course but I couldnt help laughing myself stupid.
From there we made our way to IoA. Headed into Marvel Island and grabbed ourselves fast passes for Spiderman. Seeing as it was getting pretty hot we figured wed do the water rides first so we carried on into the cartoony area and got onto Dudley do rights rip saw falls. IMO the best log flume around. So fast steep and fun. I was pretty lucky and didnt get that wet but as we came around someone on those quarter operated water jets got me square in the gob with a big jet.
Embarrassing moment of the day then occurred. They brought us to a stop very abruptly and thus I was slammed forward into the rubber padding which protects you on impact at the bottom of the main drop. Hurting my groin area. On instinct I yelled OW my nuts! a little to loudly which had near by people giggling a lot. But it stung like hell heh.
From there we went to see if blutos bilge rat barges was still open before it got refurbed and luckily it was. So we rode it twice and got absolutely drenched. Its one great river rapid ride heh. The second time we rode there was an older couple sat next to us(60-70s) in ponchos. The wife of the couple had her poncho done up as tight as could be. All you could see of her face was one eye! We couldnt help but laugh. And then just as you drop down into the main river on the ride a huge wave washed over the two of them and they got drenched. What they hadnt accounted for was ponchos dont cover your trousers. So their top half was dry the bottom half was soaked. Still they were laughing so hard they must have been having a good time.
We then went to ride Jurassic park river adventure but it was shut due to technical problems so we headed round and did the two duelling dragons. They were . Meh. Last time I rode them back in 2000 I enjoyed them but this time I found them kinda boring. I think its because the actual scenery on the ride isnt themed and because its so light you can see too easily whats coming next. Which makes it boring a bit.
From there we went to the pearl shop in the lost continent and had a pearl necklace made for my mum for xmas. Hope she likes it. Then we made our way round and rode the hulk. Just like duelling dragons this one wasnt as good as last time. Im too spoilt by the mummy and RnR. Plus I really think this rides in need of a refurb. It was so rough a ride that I got off with severe neck ache. Then we wandered onto spiderman with the fast passes. This ride always blows me away. The comination of technologies in it is phenomenal.
After that we did dr dooms tower which is ok. A lil scary for me because im afraid of heights but otherwise its tame.
By this time we had done just about everything and decided to head over to universal to do a few rides but it was fairly busy in there so we opted just to do shrek 4d. Wow what a movie. Ive done a wide variety of 3d type rides in my time but this one takes the cake. So funny and well made. Loved it to pieces.
After that we caught a taxi back to the hotel. We then walked up to pizza hut and had dinner here. Great services. Cheap food and pretty good quality too.

I hope it's open from refurb by the time we go tho, I'd be devastated having no Popeye to ride lol.
