My DH and I are having problems chosing a hotel for our honeymoon as he has 2 girls aged 8 & 10 and we have a 2yr old son.

We have chosen the AKL Royal suite for 3 nights after our wedding, my parents have kindly offered to have the children with them to give us some "private time" lol. After this we will have the 3 children with us for the remaining 7 nights of our honeymoon.

We would like a seperate bedroom, but we are stuck at which resort will be fun enough for the children as this is there special time aswell.

Has anyone been in the same situation? or can just make any suggestions

Any advice would really be of help :D :D :D :D

Have you considered a DVC villa? Hop over to the Disney Vacation Club forum and check out info on 2 or 3 bedroom suites. Many times you can rent points from fellow dis'ers and this would allow you to have a little bit of privacy.

you can also book your package/stay at waltdisneyworld.com or 407-w-disney too. you can book 2 bedroom villas or adjoining rooms at most of the deluxe resorts (polynesian, contemporary or grand floridian) or villa resort combinations (beach club villas, boardwalk inn villas, wilderness lodge villas, ft. wilderness cabins & saratoga villas)

i would recommend either the beach club or ft. wilderness. the beach club for its large and fun mini water park pool area called stormalong bay, they have boat rentals & nearby mini golf. it's also within minutes of epcot & mgm, and the fun & romantic boardwalk is nearby for you two. the ft. wilderness cabins are rustic with nice amenties like singalong campfires with marshmellows, chip n dale; a petting zoo, horseback riding and even a fireworks hayride for alittle romance and there's the nearby magic kingdom & monorail resorts. either would be a good bet for both you, fhubby and children for fun & romance.

best of luck!

I can't imagine bringing kids on a honeymoon. What's the point of the honeymoon then?

Not everyone has a choice, to each their own. She wasn't asking our opinion for whether or not she should bring them along.

I can't believe you would even write this to someone. I don't know if you have children or not but I would be willing to bet the OP feels like I do, I couldn't imagine having this special moment in time without them there. Ok, so maybe it won't exactly be a honeymoon, but, in any case I hope that you enjoy your Familymoon!!

I would look into the DVC villa suggestion. I'm sure you can find a DVC member to rent points from. I would look into staying at the Beach Club Villas, as the beach club has the best pool in my opinion :) or try the Boardwalk. I hope you all enjoy your familymoon where ever you decide to stay, and congratulations!

Thank you everyone a disney villa sounds perfect for us. :D :D :D

Having looked at a few suggested sites i think the Beach Club Villas would be perfect for us, the kids would certainly enjoy the pool and from what i understand from twojo21 mini golf is near by for them aswell.

To answer Totalia question the reason we are bringing the kids along, is that we are actually getting married at the WP next year and there is no way on earth im getting married anywhere without them, so if i have to sacrifice a honeymoon for a familymoon then i will gladly do this!!!!

I must say a special Thank you to PryncessChrysty and Kim for your kind comments.

Congratulations!

We are DVC members and recently stayed at the Beach Club Villas and it was awesome! We had a 2 bedroom villa which should provide you tons of room, and plenty of privacy when you need it. Our kids loved the pool at Stormalong Bay, and our room had an awesome view of the fireworks at Epcot at night!

If you want any specific info, feel free to PM me.... I can look up point values, etc for the time you want to go. We might even have some points to rent out!

Nicci, I think it's wonderful that you are bringing your kids on your honeymoon! Best of luck planning your honeymoon.

It would be SOOO cruel to go to WDW and not bring your kids at their age!

Totalia--

Did Your Mom Not Teach You "if You Don't Have Something Nice To Say Don't Say It At All"?

Well...obviouly Not So I Am Here To Teach You That--learn It Quick--you Are Rude And Those Type Sof Opinions Don't Belong On This Board! It Is None Of Your Biz How They Plan To Spend Their Honeymoon.

Nicci -

I think it is great you are bringing the kids along! When my mom got remarried (not at disney), but when she got remarried they offered us to come along on the honeymoon in gatlinburg, tennessee, or visit with our grandmother. we were all a bit older (11,13,15), and we chose to stay with our grandmother... but it was so special that they asked us to come, and it meant a lot that our new stepfather wanted us around for that moment in his life (it was his first marriage). If I had children - I wouldnt even think about leaving them behind!!!

I hope you enjoy every minute of your new marriage and every minute of your familymoon!!!

Congrats!!! :flower:
