My DF and I have set up a Disney Honeymoon Registry, picked out the items we liked and got our gift card in the mail that all the funds will be put on...

But my question is.. how does this work with our Keys To The Kingdom card? We use that for everything! As you know already, it's our room key, park tickets and our credit card.

Are we going to have to carry around the Gift Card and remember to use that instead of our KTTK card whenever we buy something? or can we have them use the GC as our CC associated with the KTTK card? (that makes sense?) :confused3

As far as I know, if you use your KKTK card as normal, you can then pay your room balance off with the gift card when you are checking out - I'm not sure how they separate this from your credit card payment stuff, but I presume you can use a mixture of the two if you need to?

Ok - I think it all just "clicked"

We should probably stick with using our KTTK card and when we go to check out, use the GC to pay the balance.

Then whatever is left over from that, put on our actual CC.

Yeah I would just double check when you check in that you can use the gift card to pay a balance.

I am honestly shocked at the amount of money we have received so far on our Honeymoon Registry. I was planning on just using the GC in the parks but it just makes more sense for us to use it towards paying off our reservation.

Yes, that's how we did it. We charged everything to our Keys to the World/room card and then used the Disney Honeymoon Registry card to pay the balance when we checked out of our hotel.

You can pay your hotel bill with multiple forms of payment - we used the Honeymoon Registry card, other Disney gift cards, and our credit card all at the same time. :thumbsup2

My first post!!! Woo hoo!!!

So... I have a question... since you have to pay for your reservation in total at least 45 days ahead of time, how can you pay for your reservation with money from the honeymoon registry? (I'd assume you don't get it until you get there...)

Congrats on your first post! ;)

Only travel packages have to be paid off 45 days in advance - room-only reservations don't need to be paid until you check out (except for the one-night deposit).

However, the actual gift card from the registry is sent to you shortly after you sign up, so if you've signed up in time, you can transfer whatever funds are in your account at the time to the card and use it to pay off your reservation.

If your card isn’t funded until after you’ve paid for your package, you may call the Disney Reservations Center at 407-939-7776 to receive a credit in your original form of payment up to the amount available on your Disney Gift Card for Honeymoons. (This doesn't work for cruises, unfortunately.)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh.... I see. Yeah, we actually registered a long time ago. Like, a really long time ago. As in, the card is buried somewhere in a folder in a drawer in a room... somewhere. Probably in the "don't forget this" folder.

So, seeing as how we have about 2 months to pay off our reservation but are only going to send out our invitations in about 2 weeks, we may not accumulate enough to help pay off the reservation. Dang it, I guess that just means we'll have to spend everything people give us! (Is that okay with you honey?)

Thanks, lurkyloo and everyone else who commented. Oily and I love lurking your trip reports and appreciate your help! We  you!

Did you put the number on the card onto your account?? When I got the card in the mail, I signed right onto my registry and put in the card number. Then every time someone got us a gift, it automatically went onto the card. I didn't have to transfer them or anything. It was all really easy actually....and coincidentally, my I got an e-mail from my TA this morning that she ran the card and it paid for more than half of my reservation!! Woo Hoooo!!!

Yea, we've linked our Gift Card with our Registry. We haven't send out our invites yet with the registry info on them, so no one knows about our disney registry yet.

But it sounds like even though our honeymoon will be paid for we can still have them use the GC and give us a credit on the card we used to pay for the honeymoon!

I've been really hesitant about doing the disney registry because I'm worried we won't be able to use all the $$ on just restaurants and other activities, but my DF (PintoZack) doesn't think we'll have any problems.:rotfl:

I have been hesitant that nobody will add to my card. LOL...

I guess it won't hurt. Its just I feel like I am always telling people where we are registered and I don't even feel comfortable telling them. I wish I had someone that would tell everyone.

The Disney Honeymoon Registry is the only place we registered. We already have everything as far as housewares.. (towels, bedding) since we're not "just starting out".

We also did the "Omg-never do this-totally tacky-against all wedding etiquitte rules" and included the "We're registered http://www.disneyhon...." and printed it on our directions/information card :scared1:

Everybody's doing it..... :rotfl:

Oh another question. Anyone having problems with the Registry Site? Seems I can "find" us during the day at work, but when I go home and try to find us it just errors out and won't work!! Makes me nervous when our guest go and try and find our registry that they won't be able to get on the site at all...

I haven't even added my card to my account yet, because I would always get errors. I emailed them once and asked if my guests would have this many problems with the site and they promised they were working on it.

Do you remember how long ago it was that you emailed them?

We've been having a problem with the site for.. well, we booked our Honeymoon in August, registered as soon as we had our reservation number.. so.. almost a year!

I'm really worried about our - not so computer literate people - having problems with the website. :scared:

I had the errors messages when I first got my card as well. My whole problem was my Internet Explorer. I downloaded Mozzila and it works perfectly....PS- I am also worried about people not using my registry :)

Do you have another registry set up? I'm worried that too many people will contribute to our Disney Registry and we'll end up outfitting our whole kitchen with Mickey Garb just so we use up the $$ on the card! :rotfl:

I do have another registry.Doesnt have a lot on it bc we alreayd live together and dont need alot...If you dont use all your money on your honeymoon, the card does NOT expire so you can use it on an anniversary trip :)

Funny you should say that. DF and I have already been talking about the possibility of a "bounce back" vacation in January. I've read about a few people getting the bouce back offers and mentioned it to DF, so now I'm planning ahead to Jan 2010 for our next trip ;)

Since the card doesn't expire..... hmmm..... :rolleyes1

BTW, I just read through your PJ! popcorn:: Love it! Love the dress, your ring, your ceremony site.. everything!

Aww thanks!! Ive been slackin on it but maybe Ill have to update it. Im hitting my 90 day mark tomorow and Ive been slammed with wedding stuff this week, and in the future. Thanks for the inspiration girl!! :wizard:
