For those of you who are using or have used this...At what point did people start using it? what time frame before the wedding I guess is my question. Thanks!
I think generally with registries of any kind, they say to start them about 6 months before the wedding, so you could use that as a guide. We set one up about 6 months before our wedding (but that's cuz we only started planning about 6 months before), and people began to use it once we had our first shower, which was 4 months before the wedding. Then it kinda snowballed as the wedding got closer.
I set my registry up sooo long ago, maybe even last summer. My mom was the first person to buy from it and since my invites went out last week, only 2 more have bought from it, one was my mom's cousin, and the other my "disney friend" at work.
So I think Carrie is right...make sure to put it in your shower invites so people know you are registered there and I'm sure that's when you'll start getting some things. I'm worried that not many people are going to buy from this registry though. My mom bought only because she knew how badly I wanted it and she told her cousin to buy. And the third person, like I said, is my disney friend, so she bought. I'm really not sure anyone else will!
The good thing is that you can set it up so they send you an e-mail everytime someone buys so you don't have to stalk it constantly like I do my other registry....
Thanks! I already have everything set up and it is linked to my "wedding website" which the website was included on the STD maget....just no one has bought anything and I wanted to make sure that was normal. I didn't want to keep holding onto something if it was clearly obviously it wasn't happening
We'd been getting wedding presents from stores for about 5 months now (our wedding is in 3 weeks)...its only been about 2 weeks since people have started utilizing the honeymoon registry.
