We are looking at doing the Disney 7-night western carribean cruise for our official honeymoon in october, and want to combine it with a stay in Disney as well. I have only ever stayed on property once before, at the Coronado Springs and I wasn't all that impressed, plus I want somewhere really nice as it's our honeymoon, where do you guys suggest? I don't wanna spend a fortune.

Though I haven't stayed there yet I did a lot of research on a good honeymoon hotel at Disney for my own Disneymoon this September and hands down Wilderness Lodge won :) It has a very romantic feel to it and even though it's a deluxe the price is very reasonable. Just visit wdwinfo to look at pictures of the resort and you will be sold!

Well... we chose Coronado Springs. :) They just renovated all the rooms, plus we wanted to be more in an "adult" environment.

I haven't stayed at too many on-site places. But just looking at pictures, I'd probably choose the Polynesian for a honeymoon.

We stayed at the Polynesian for our honeymoon and it was wonderfully romantic- it is a little pricey though- it really depends on if you plan on staying at the resort instead of doing the parks. If you plan to take it easy on your honeymoon and be back in time to enjoy the sunsets on the beach and the water parade or be around for the early mornings (I love that they do Mickey heads onthe sand every morning) to enjoy the resort, it is worth it. If, on the other hand, you are up at the crack of dawn, hitting a different park every day and not coming back until after the park closes, IMHO, it wouldn't be worth the extra money to stay there. Wilderness is beautiful too, just not as convenient to get to the parks (you have the Transportation Center right next to the Poly), but very pretty.

I am still amazed Disney hasn't opened a couples (or adults) only resort (like the Poconos or the Mexican resorts) for people who want that kind of experience, especially on a honeymoon or anniversary trip.

Yeah, I love the look of Wilderness Lodge, wish I'd been and had a look when I was there in May.

I think the polynesian is gorgeous, has a great location and a super beach to watch Wishes from... I just don't think I can afford it :sad2: I also really like the GF and the S & D but I just need to convince DH that it is worth staying in an expensive resort when we will be out for most of the day. He wants to spend money on the cruise and then not so much money on the hotel. I managed to convince him to stay at POR at the mo.

Has anyone done the cruise by the way?
