My fiancé and I got engaged at Disneyworld over Spring Break last year and we will be getting married in July of next year. For our honeymoon, we want to take an 8 day cruise and spend 8 days at Disney, but we do not know where we should stay. We spent our engagement trip at POR and loved it but we want something a little nicer for our honeymoon. I think the best option in our price range is to rent DVC points and stay in a studio, but we would like help deciding where to stay. I like the idea of the BLT-lake view for the proximity to the monorail and MK, and my fiancé likes the idea of the AKV- concierge or savannah because she loves animals. However, we would be open to any other ideas, since there is a chance these two will be sold out. What do ya'll think of the DVC resort studios? Which studios are the best? Which are the worst? What are the pros and cons of each and what would be best for a honeymoon? Also, if anyone has a preference on who to use for rentals, it would be greatly appreciated. We have looked at both David's vacation club rentals and DVC Rental store.

I don't know how you feel about moving, but we did a split stay for our honeymoon so I could try 4 different resorts, including 2 DVCs. Bell Services moves all your luggage for you while you're in the parks, so it's not as much of a hassle as it sounds.

Supposedly Old Key West has the biggest studios. I didn't really care about the size of the room, just its decor and proximity to the parks, so we did BCV and AKV for our two DVC stays. The cool thing about Beach Club is that it has a mini water park in the form of Stormalong Bay, and it's close to my favorite park, Epcot. It's important to spend some time relaxing on your honeymoon, so for us, Stormalong Bay was the perfect spot.

I've always rented points from individual owners via the DIS and M o u s e o w n e r s because it's cheaper than those two services.

Sorry for the overabundance of questions, but I was also curious if it was worth staying somewhere like old key west for 10 nights instead of somewhere like bay lake tower for 7 nights because they basically come out to the same price

I own at BLT, AKV and OKW and have stayed at just about all of the WDW DVC resorts. We are hoping to stay at VGF for our honeymoon as well as Boardwalk - which is where we are getting married. Honestly, they all have their charm and are nice in their own way. At OKW you will get the most nights for your points but you can also get a Boardwalk standard room for the same points as OKW and AKV has value studios that are actually a bit less. Keep in mind that AKV value rooms and the AKV club level rooms are very popular and go quickly - usually to owners at the 11 month window. Boardwalk standard rooms also go quickly because of the value. And Beach Club and VWL do not have very many rooms so they also go quickly.
